Grey Knights vs Death Guard Batrep

Greetings to one and all.

I will endevour to tell the tale of how the Death guard wrested victory from the Grey knights at the last possible moment.
And please bear in mind that I am writing this at 1 AM so there might be errors up the wazoo in this here report ;)

So a friend of mine invited me to play a game of 40K with armys of 1750p size.
The armys consisted of somewhat the following configuration:

Grey Knights

HQ
Grand Master, Grimoire of true names; Master-crafted weapon; Psychic hood; Sacred incense; Terminator armour; Nemesis force weapon
Power Weapon.
4 man Terminator retinue, Nemesis force weapon x4; Storm Bolter x3; Incinerator x1.

Troops
8 Grey Knights, Nemesis Force weapons x8; storm bolter x8.
1 Justicar, master-crafted weapon; Frag grenades; nemesis force weapon; storm bolter.

7 Grey Knights, Nemesis Force weapon x5; storm bolter x5; psycannon x2.
1 Justicar, Master-crafted weapon; nemesis force weapon; storm bolter.

6 Grey Knights, Nemesis force weapon x5; storm bolter x5; incinerator x1.
1 Justicar, master-crafted weapon; nemesis force weapon; storm bolter.

Heavy support
Dreadnought, Blessed; Sacred hull; DCCW; Multi-melta; Storm bolter.

Dreadnought, Blessed; Sacred hull; DCCW; Incinerator; Plasma cannon.

Land raider, TL Lascannon x2; TL heavy bolter.


Death guard (you will excuse me for not listing all of theyr war gear as this was my friends army:))

Daemon prince, warp time(this I remember as I managed to thwart it with my psychic hood ;) )

Dreadnought, DCCW x2; TL bolters.

4 Terminators, power fist x3; power weapon x1; reaper auto cannon x1; TL bolter x3

Vindicator.

So now if I could just remember what happened during the game.
He deployed first, I seized the initiative. The name of the game was 5 objectives and pitched battle.

Turn 1 GK
Movement
I moved the land raider, the 9 man GK squad and the dreads forward 6 inches. Leaving the 2 smaller GK squads securely
holding 2 objectives just outside my deployment zone.
Shooting
The land raider opened up on 2 rhinos straight infront of it, the crew firing 1 lascannon and the machine spirit firing the second.
1 immobilized and the second shaken.
The MM dread fired at his Dread causing a penetrating hit but only shaking it.
The PC dread took a shot at the same target but not mannaging anything.
The Psycannon GK squad opened up on the third rhino without success.

Turn 1 DG
Movement
The still functioning rhinos moved forward 6" and 12" the 1 close to the land raider 6 without popping smoke and the 1 close to the psycannon
GK squad 12 and popped smoke, the vindicator moved up on a hill 6" to get a clear
field of fire and the dread moved 6" towards my dreads.
Shooting
Vindicator fires on my MM dread vithout success. 1 Plague marine fires from the fire point at the land raider without success.

Turn 2 GK
Movement
Landraider, 9 man GK and the dreads advance 6".
Shooting
can't remember what happened here, but I think the vindicator was taken out this turn.

Turn 2 DG
Reserves: Obliterators and terminators arrive.
Daemon prince comes out from behind the immobilized rhino to within 6" of the 9 man GK squad. Dread moves 6" closer to my dreads.
1 squad of DG dissembarks close to my Psycannon GK squad and my dreads
Shooting
Dissembarked DG squad fired plasmaguns on my MM dread, overheating 1 missing 1 and hitting 2 shots without making a dent.
Obliterators and terminators fire on my MM dread, managing to shake and stun it.
Assault
DP assaults the 9 man GK squad killing all but the justicar, due to wounds inflicted and fearless wounds.

Turn 3 GK
Movement
Gran Master and retinue dissembark the landraider and move 6;ish" away towards the DP. Landraider moves on top of a
objective marker putting more than 3" between the marker and the closest rhino.
PC dread moves towards the newly dissembarked DG squad.
Shooting
Landraider opens up on the still moveable rhino close to the objective and the rhino close to the psycannon GK and dreads.
wrecking both. Psycannon GK squad fires the psycannons at the obliterators, managing to cause 1 wound.
the PC dread fires the PC and incinerator at the DG squad, killing 3(I think).
Assault
GM and retinue assault DP and PC dread assaults the DG squad.
GM killes the DP. DP manages to kill 3 termies. PC dread manages to kill 1 DG marine, another 1 dies to fearless wounds.

Turn 3 DG
Movement
DG squad in the immobilized rhino dissembark and move towards my GM and termie ret. Dread moves towards my stunned/shaken MM dread.
Obliterators move towards the CC between my PC dread and the DG squad. Termies move towards my psycannon GK squad.
Shooting
Dissembarked DG squad fire melta and pistols at my GM and ret. not managing to kill anyone thanks to my saving throws.
Termies fire at the psycannon GK;s managing to kill 1. DG squad from the wrecked rhino near my raider fire a melta at the raider, exploding it.
Assault
DG squad assault my GM and ret. Dread assaults my MM dread. Obliterators assault my PC dread.
DG squad are wiped out before they get a chance to fight. Dread manages to destroy MM dreads CCW my dread doing the same.
obliterators allso manage to destroy the CCW on the PC dread but not before it had a chance to kill 1 of them.

Turn 4 GK
Movement
GM and ret move in front of the raider killing DG squad. The lone Justicar moves to a closeby objective. the psycannon GK squad moves closer to the termies.
Shooting
Retinue Incinerator fires on the DG squad killing 3. Psycannons and all storm bolters fire at the termies, not managing to kill anyone.
Assault
GM and ret assault the DG squad and the psycannon GK;s assault the termies. GM and ret kill all but 3 of the squad the 3 remaining DG manage to kill the ret. GK squad manage to kill 2 termies and loose 4 of they own.
The MM dread is destroyed.

Turn 4 DG
Movement
The only DG squad without a rhino try to make it into assault range to the GM, difficult terrain rolls come up short.
The dread moves towards the final dread combat.
Shooting
As all the models are in CC there is no shooting here :D
Assault
The dread assault into the assault with the PC dread. The DG squad can't make it into CC with the GM.
The PC dread is stunned. The GM kills the final DG from the previous round. The GK squad manage to kill the termies with the Justicar and 2 GK;s left alive.

At this point the game is 3-0 in favour of the GK

Turn 5 GK
Movement
The GM moves closer to the DG squad that tryed to assault him last turn. GK squad moves further into the woods where the objective is.
Shooting
no shooting
Assault
GM assaults the DG squad, managing to kill all but the PF aspiring champ, the thrice damned asp champ then retaliates by killing the GM.
The PC dread is wrecked.

Turn 5 DG
Movement
The DG dread gets blood rage? Moves and fleets toward the Psycannon GK squad. Obliterators move towards the lone Justicar.
The thrice damned PF asp champ moves back towards a objective. The DG squad freed from the previous rounds CC with the PC dread moves towards another objective.
Shooting

Assault
the dread assaults the psycannon GK;s managing nothing exept contesting the objective.

At this point the game is 2-1 in favour of the GK;s

Turn 6 GK
Movement
Nothing to move
Shooting
The lone Justicar takes a potshot at the thrice cursed, managing to wound the bastard but he makes the save.
the Incinerator GK;s fire at the obliterators not managing anything.
Assault
The dread melee ends in a draw once again.

Turn 6 DG
Movement
The thrise cursed moves out of sight to the lone Justicar. The surviving 2 DG marines move to take 1 objective and the obliterators move closer to the lone justicar.
Shooting
Obliterators vaporize the lone Justicar.
Assault
The dread melee ends in a draw once again.

Game ends.

End tally 1 objective in the hands of the GK;s, 2 in the hands of the DG.

Peli oli tuikka kuin mäkärisen perse.
Hauskinta siinä oi se, että neljännenkierrokse tienoilla (tilanne Ritareille 3-0) alettiin Jukan kanssa spekuloimaan sitä epätodennäköisintä vaihtoehtoa mun voitolle. "Ajattele jos kävis niin, että..."

Ja kas, näin kävi ;)
