Saimaa Gaming Ry proudly represents its Warhammer 40K Team tournament in the Spring of 2026! Kings of Saimaa 2026 features 22 teams (5 players/team) competing for 5 rounds of War-and-Hammer during the weekend of 25-26 April 2026. Once again, it’ll happen beside the beautiful Saimaa lake at Imatra SPA resort, Finland.

Reserve your team spot by registering in BCP and complete the payment. Only a complete payment secures the spot in the team tournament. Tournament entry fee is 300 euro/team. Principally, first come first serve. The entry order will be determined by the payment dates.

And through this tournament, we are going to help a little friend of ours, the Saimaa ringed seal ( Saimaannorppa) ❤️ Because of the fact, despite the whole giant blue planet out there, that Lake Saimaa is the only home for these little cute creatures. It's our obligation and honor to help them out. TOURNAMENT RULES

• 10th edition, 2025-2026 Chapter Approved Mission Deck & Tournament Companion

• 2000 points Strikeforce armies, must be fully painted, based and WYSIWYG. Conversions and 3D printed models are allowed. The same applies for third party models and stand-ins of official Games Workshop models. The proxies are not allowed to be used, for instance, a player shall not use the Maugan Ra model to proxy as Fuegan. If you are uncertain whether miniatures in the army are playable, send a photo/message to TO before the tournament! Failure to meet Battle Ready standards will result in the loss of Battle Ready points (10 points).

• Forgeworld units are allowed

• Units of Legend can not be used

• Only one of each faction per team, which means only one instance of SM/DW/DA/BA/SW/… can be taken per team as they all have the Adeptus Astartes Faction Keyword. There are instances where faction keywords are replaced, in which case the final obtained keyword is taken into account for determining which factions are taken up by a given army list.

• Preset missions and terrains (WTC medium), played on a 60” by 44” gaming mat. All terrains and gaming mats are the property of organizers, therefore cleanliness is expected. If any terrain or mats are damaged or stained due to negligence, the responsible player will be accountable to cover the expenses. Players will set up the terrain for the next round after their own games finished, by using terrain maps provided by the TOs.

• Rules cut off time will be Saturday 18th April 2026 at 24:00. Rules released after this time will not be in use during KOS 2026.

• Army rosters will be submitted by the player himself into BCP in CLEAR text format, submission deadline is Monday 20th April 2026 at 19:00. Lists will be published when all lists have been submitted and checked. A delayed submission of the list will result in the forfeiture of Battle Ready Points (10 points) for each game in the tournament.

• Every round has 3 hours and 30 minutes: includes 15 minutes of team pairing process + 3 hours 15 minutes gaming time. All teams and players are expected to follow the timetable strictly.

• First round pairs drawn, followed by SWISS pairings (Wins /Random), 5 round games for all teams. Tiebreakers as follows: WINS / BATTLE POINTS / WINS SOS.

• The results of the tournament/games will be submitted into the BCP/ITC ranking.

• The use of a chess clock is highly recommended. If a chess clock is used, then WTC clock rules are in use. If either player requests the use of a chess clock, a clock must be used, the player requesting the use of a chess clock must be able to provide the chess clock.

• All games must end within the fixed round time. Both players submit their game result by themselves to BCP asap.

• The tournament uses the WTC FAQ to resolve unclear situations. Army specific FAQs will be in use as well.

Important Notes:

• Players attending the KOS 2026 are expected to act in a sportsmanlike and Gentlemanly manner at all times. Players are expected to ‘play by intent.’ What this means is that players should actively talk through everything they are doing and what they intend to accomplish by doing it. This requires both players to ensure that it is a two-way conversation where information is not being purposefully withheld insofar that it could affect your opponent’s intention. This does not mean that you need to reveal your game-plan, but it does mean that the game should be played openly to avoid any ‘gotcha-moments’ by way of new or obscure rules.

• Lunches: Imatra SPA hotel has delicious lunch and buffets on both Saturday and Sunday. The dining area is a couple minutes walking from the tournament arena. The price is 18e/person (norm: 22e), paid by the players themselves. Your player pass might be required at the cashier.

• Saturday night After party at Lodge Vuoksi (VIP dining area booked only for all our players ): all tournament participants are welcome to join the party free of charge, along with their companions. Here you can relax and enjoy the whole community after the first intensive battle day. A more detailed program will be published later!
