Hq; Librarian
Elites; Venerable Dreadnought W/Plasma Cannon, 2*5 men Devastators W/Lascannons, infiltrate.
Troop; 6*5 men tactical squad, W/ Plasma gun & Cannon
Fast Attack; 3 land speeders W/ Assault Cannon&Multi-melta
Heavy Support; 2*Whirlwind, Vindicator.

Olisikohan tuossa ainesta turnaukseen?

Hey guys, here's some Forgeworld Seminar information from the UK GD posted on Portent by Bryndyr:

Ok, quick run down:

CHAOS:

1) New chapter specific dreadnaughts.
2) Chaos fighter similar to the current fighter/bomber.
3) Defiler variant

SM:

1) New chapter specific dreadnaughts.
2) Probable production of doors etc for new chapters.

TAU:

Far to much to mention, lots of new armament options (rather than new models) and a kroot camp.

ELDAR:

1) New version of a heavy weapon skimmer (Cobra?)

IG:

1) Tallern(sp?) models
2) Elyesian(sp?) Drop Troop models - including grav chutes etc would be produced in a similar format to current plastic SM.

Don't recall any mention of any new tanks.

Orks:

1) new weapon options to be produced for battlewagon
2) Heavy bomber

Books:

New IA book (vol 3) will be a campaign book mainly about Tau, but it will also include campaign data against Tallarn & drop troop IG. It will be approx 250 pages, but expect it to be the same price as the two other £40 books.

ELYSIANS..........I can't wait.
There was some good pre-release models, including the new plastic Marine Commander, Marine command squad, and the Baran Siegemasters for Epic.

There was nice stuff in the display cabinets as well, in the studio area.

Highlights were:

- the resin master of a new Space Marine Chaplain (a generic one)

- the new Whirlwind with the normal missile configuration

- The techinal servitors (much better than the gun servitors) and the other variant of the Techmarine (a lot better than the one we have seen with a helmet).

- the updated Tactical sprue with some new accessory bits on it, and two new pairs of legs (straight standing and kneeling) Not sure when it is out, hopefully soon.

- The Terminus Est and a similar tzeentchian looking battleship for BFG

- New Mars pattern Imperial ships for BFG, representing existing classes but with a new hull and prow design, and giving us a model of the Endeavour light cruiser. Out sometime next year.

From the 40K seminar (which was a bit bland TBH):

Nids in Summer 05 (Pete Haines said pick a month).

Plastic drop-pods in 2-3 years (but Gobstyks were demonstrating some great scratch-built ones - see their website).

The obligatory Squats question was ignored, as was the "why did Andy C leave?" one.

The Chapter Specific Codexes will be main codexes and may use the Chapter Traits system or a bastardised version of it.

That was about it, except that the veterans look excellent.

And the biggest disappointment - no SM Codex available - apparently all too difficult.
A slightly more in depth version of the 40k seminar (the 2pm one) would be:

Ok, well as you all know UKGD was today and i was lucky enough to win a ticket to the 2.00pm 40k seminar.. (there were some 125 tickets left for it mind you if memory serves, although the room seemed to be sooooo tiny).

Heres a few thigs i gleaned (the Q&A wasn't great tbh, lots of n00b q's).

Release Dates:

Nov: Codex Marines (like you didnt know)
Feb: Wave Serpent
"Summer 05": Codex Nids
Autumnish 05 Plastic Termies
Autumnish 05 Marneus Calgar in TERMIE ARMOUR!!
Autumnish 05 Nid Hunters
Whirlwind will have both missile types (normal and minefield) in the box {model is sweeeet!}

Aside from that assume the new marines stuff is coming out between the Marine dex and Nid dex, all except for... PLASTIC DEVASTATORS of course which they confirmed but will be a "later project".

Now for a few confirmations/ rumours..

Space Marines:

All chapters such as DA, SW, BT and BA will have their own complete stand alone codex (that means no you wont need Codex:SM to play DA ).

Assault and Tactical sprues are being "re-vamped" which basically means the following:

1. Move the sprue around a bit (not re-sculpt anything)
2. Add a few "cool" bits to it... your guess is as good as mine
3. Scale down the heads (i assume bare heads) so they fit on Cadian torsos in a more realistic manner

Plastic Drop Pods: they want to do but will be at least 18 months according to Jes.

Additional sprues were mentioned for chapters of note, i assume these to be compatible with both termies and normal marines.

When they were sculpting Capt. Shrike (Raven Guard) they apparatly made a number of extra power armoured lightning claws (metal) which will be available as either a boxed set or blister at some point (cool).

Nids:

Will get a re-vamp as they are quite happy with the way they work. The book will move a few things to tone down on the amount of page turning that is involved in actually constructing a list. More importantly there will be NO MUTATIONS but still biomorphs for larger creatures.

The Carnifex will be re-done (old news) to be the size of a Rhino with lots of options and apparantly the ability to take more per army but Phil wouldnt say how.

The middle sized creatures (Warriors, Zoanthropes, Ravenors etc) will be re-worked both in models (bar warriors) and rules (all) so that people dont simply ignore them in favour of lots of lil beasties and big bad monsters.

Hive Tyrants will still be able to fly! ( shock horror) but will no longer be a must have, ie you can now make armies of all lil nasties or all big beasties if not somewhere inbetween.

Basically the usual new types of troop and new weapons are also gonna be there.

General:

No more big worldwide campaigns for a while , they are focusing on smaller scale campaign sets for both 40k and Fantasy as WW things are such a drain and nothing would get released otherwise.

Thats about it, im sure i missed loads out... ah well.

G8
Tau will probably be getting new weapons, probably in up-coming White Dwarfs. This is to fit in with their fluff of constantly coming up with new weapons time and time again. However, since the Tau do not tests their weapons as thoroughly as the Imperium, they will occasionally be faulty, and so may overheat, or something similar. In which case, once in a while, these guns will have some kind of defect (eg. overheating), but will be sorted out in a later WD to represent the Tau fixing the defect. Pretty gay, but yeah...

Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Space Wolves, AND Black Templars will all get their codexes, and they will NOT (I repeat, NOT) need the Space Marine codex to back them up with - they will be STAND ALONE codexes (so the full £12, chunky ones). These codexes will also, probably, contain chapter traits to make your BAs/DAs/Whatever even more customised rather than just being standard chapter. The release of these codexes though, will probably not bring about new models, as the response to the question was pretty much a mumble about how they didn't have the time/couldn't be bothered

Tryanid Hive Tyrants may be going to plastics, as Jes Goodwin has *considered* (and I emphasise, he said "considering") making an all plastic Hive Tyrant, although he didn't say anything about not considering doing a Plastic Carnifex - although thats a rumour that has been going around for a while - so is perhaps true.

When asked about Adeptus Mechanicus, Demiurg, Hrud, etc. (oh yes, lol) - Jes said that as much as they would like to do them, they simply dont have the time (re-doing all other codexes) and the space in the shops to fit these new races in.

Harlequins are... lets just say, a very slight possibility of being in the Eldar codex. It was basically shrugged off about the idea of them being in the codex, and that they "might" appear in a WD or something, later on. Dark Eldar and Eldar are being tackled at the same time, but will NOT (or at least, it is VERY likely that they will not) be in the same codex - so thats a big relief. There are also plans to stop people using craftworlds rather than standard Eldar, as there are "more to Eldar than just the Craftworlds" - so... yeah.

There were many questions such as "Whats going to be done about the Thousand Sons getting screwed over in the new rules" - the response to which was basically "I don't care." Someone also asked what had happened to Andy Chambers. He has reportedly been eaten by Squats...
*Phew* Olipa paljon...
