Hello everyone. This is the first of the newsletters we will publish in the upcoming months, working our way towards the Iron Moot 2015. We are aiming to keep the flow of information constant and keep all of you up to date with what is planned and happening. So let’s get to it:

Dates
The event will be held the second weekend of august (14th to the 16th). There are several reasons for the earlier date. One is that Sweden and Gothenburg is a lot nicer this time of year and also there is a lull in the tournament scene during the summer, so the Iron moot is a nice kick off for the autumn season.

Venue
We will have a new venue for the Iron Moot 2015. The event will be located at the Apple conference hotel in eastern central Gothenburg. The reason for the change is that we have outgrown the current venue in respects to what we want to achieve with the event (food included in the ticket price and so on) and, since it is a conference hotel, we will be able to make great deals on hotel rooms for the attendees. More information on hotel rooms, pricing and how to book will follow shortly.

In respect to square meters for the gaming it will stay approximately the same but the events will be held in three different rooms and thus the sound level might not be as high as previous years.

Food and Beverages
As is tradition lunch for every day will be included in the ticket price. If you stay at the hotel, breakfast and a dinner buffet will also be included, and you also have free coffee during your stay.
Since the event is held at the Apple Hotel we will have access to the hotel bar and might even have a personal bar at the main gaming area. The hotel has a small arrangement of snacks and sodas similar to the kiosk we’ve had previous years.

For those not staying at the hotel wanting dinner there is a MAX Hamburger 50m from the Hotel and the tram and train stations is 150m in either direction with just a couple of stops to central station or other areas where there is restaurants. There is also a big ICA (groceries) store nearby.

That’s it for now. In the next update we will give you information on tickets, pricing, booking of rooms, events and other things. Stay tuned and don’t forget, if you are an organizer and want your event to be a qualifier for the Iron Moot 2015, last day to apply is 16th of January.

176 Days to go and the event are shaping up to become the best Iron Moot to date. The committee did an inspection of the venue earlier this week and concluded that there will be room for the same amount of attendees as last year. Rooms in the Hotel are starting to be booked and things are falling into place. So, let’s get down to the nitty gritty:

When it comes to tournaments the schedule is similar to Iron Moot 2014:

Friday: Swedish Masters (cap at 64 players)
Hardcore (cap at 32 players)

Saturday: Iron Gauntlet QF (cap at 64 players)
Road to the Invitational (cap at 32 players)

Sunday: Nordic Invitational (16 qualified players)
Team Tournament (16 teams of three players)

The new thing is the Road to the Invitational, which will be a Masters Style type of tournament using 35 points armies and the ADR rule. Since the Nordic Invitational is in the Master format as well, this means that attendees could get to play ADR three days in a row!

Worth to note is that there will only be room for 96 players each day and that the spots at the tournaments will be reserved when players purchase their pass for the weekend. We will continue to sell tickets after 96 but cannot guarantee any spots in tournaments after this number. You’ll still get to play in the Iron Arena and get to eat the included lunch off course.

Painting competition:

More information on the competition to come, but expect the categories to be the same as or close to the same as the P3 grand Master rules. Those rules can be found at: http://privateerpress.com/formula-p3/ge ... tion-rules. The prices for the tournament will not be cash prices but will come out of the general prize pool.

Organizer Tickets:

This year we will have 4 tickets available for playing organizers. You, as an organizer, will get a 250 SEK discount per day you participate as a Judge or hold an event. E.g. if you play the Swedish Masters and judge the Iron Gauntlet qualifier you will get your ticket for 250 SEK. If you play the team tournament and judge both Friday and Saturday, you’ll get your ticket for free. If you are interested to sign up, contact the organizers at [email protected]

Niko, tatu ja hermanni näyttää tässä vaiheessa olevan lähdössä. Oliko muita lähdössä? Itse vähän pohdin pitäiskö lähteä, koska eiks tässä oo samaa coni-meininkiä kun smogconissa?

Edit: ja onko tossa topikissa muuten tarkoituksella väärä päivämäärä? Ainakin webbisivujen mukaan on 7-9.8.

Kolme päivää. Kolme isoa turnausta. Lisäks joka päivä on vielä sit jotai hardcorea, tiimiturneeta yms. pikkukivaa droppaajille. Tykkäsin viimeks ja suosittelen muillekki.

Mul oli kans jostai syystä kalenteris toi päivä pitkään. En tiä mistä tullu itellekki toi tieto.
