Frostgrave is becoming very popular, and perhaps it would be interesting to find a group of players to play with here in Joensuu; especially taking into account that Mordheim is not played anymore.

For whom don't know FG, it is a skirmish fantasy game very similar to Mordheim. You lead a warband guided by a spell caster and his/her apprentice, and fight in the ruins of Frostgrave against monsters and other players to find old treasures. In the campaign mode your spell caster earns experience to enhance his attributes and learn new spells; and at the same time you can buy new items and new warriors for your warband with the gold you find (or steal) in the ruins.

In contrast with Mordheim, FG uses a D20 and only the spell caster earns experience (subsequently, also the apprentice). One of the best parts of this game is that all of the warbands have a spell caster, but there are dozens of different spell combinations that can be selected by each spell caster (for example, you can focus on “elements” such as the fire balls, but take a couple of daemon summoning spells; while other spell caster is centered on “constructs” and time-controlling).

A good reason to start playing FG is that…we don´t have to buy any model! We can play with any fantasy model we have, such as our Mordheim warbands :D

There are some downsides, of course. One of the most important critics is that is very simple (you only need to roll a D20…), but there are some modifications on internet.

I already have the rulebook (it is in Juha´s hand at the moment) beside the first campaign book. Therefore, there are no excuses! :P

So, is anyone interested in start a Frostgrave campaign in Fantasiapelit?

This was actually just discussed today! There might be a need for another skirmish summer campaign, like last year's excellently successful Necromunda, and we'd most probably get some local roleplayers interested in Frostgrave as well. Which makes it all the more interesting!

I'm definitely interested, but most likely not before May or so.

We talked with Peetu about starting a Summer campaign for FG. We have been very interest in to try this game. It sounds splendidly different and at the same time nicely familiar when comparing to Mordheim. Also, the D&D-like setting and rules are more than welcome at least for me. For what I have heard and read about the game, this is nonetheless a game that can be broken very easily, but for good humored and lighthearted campaign it sounds like just the right game! And now that KoW-campaign is almost over, I think there would be nicely room for another fantasy campaign - especially for a skirmish one. So I for my self, would not mind if we start playing before summer. In April I am mostly occupied with my master's thesis but In May and after that I am free to play.

Also, I would recommend that we would use the Sellsword Expansion that opens a possibility to have a leveling fighter instead of just leveling magic users in your warband.

And since the minis are pretty liquid in terms of need, i think we can mix malifaux minis as well.
