[40k] Crimson Angels vs chaos, englantia

"Squad Aprus, enemy up north, move and engage them. Squad Ophilia, take that dreadnought out NOW!" Chaplain of Crimson Angels was furious. Capture of communication relay from followers of nurgle was going far from perfect. Already most of his forces were gone, leaving him but handfull squads and himself. Swinging his crozius he smashed head of another plague marine with a loud crack.
"In the name of Khorne, FIGHT damn you! Show them from which you have been made of!" Another swing, another fallen plague marine. From corner of his eye he could see squad Aprus charging into squad of plague havoc's. Autocannon from squad Ophilia spatted out heavy shells into aproaching dreadnought, but damn the thing moved fast! Swinging his crozius first left and with backhand sweep into right final plague marines fell to ground. Looking up he could see looming form of dreadnought almost top of him. He tried to get off with his bike but it seemed like it was already too late...
Suddenly dreadnought exploded. The autocannon had finally found weak spot. Sighing relief Chaplain looked around. Everywhere fighting was almost over. The communication tower was their, even when it had costed them badly.
"Chaplain Rakos to base. Communication relay post secured, mission accomplished. Suffered heavy casualties, counter-strike to be expected. Requesting immediate reinforcements. Come soon or relay post will be lost. Over."
"Conf.........inforc........om.......oon." Rest was lost in static. What was ETA? What were their numbers? Damn he wanted to know. Looking right he could see second in command, aspiring champpion from squad Aprus aproaching.
"Aprus. Take six marines and set up sentry watch. We don't want the enemy come unnoticed. Reinforcements are probably coming, but I don't know when or where. Make sure sentries understand their mission. Our lives could depend on it."
"Understood chaplain. I shall do as you wish."
"Better do so, for if you don't and we survive I shall kill you myself."

Sabotage mission. We weren't sure of where defender reinforcements came from so we agreed 1 from north(my POV), 2-5 on west, 6 on south. Attackers chose to come from east(had they come from west 2-5 would have been east). TVR was used with some modifications(in main same as in other battle reports).

Terrain. Tower on center(objective), hill w/difficult terrain north-east of it, bunch of forrest here and there, bunch of hills here and there.
Crimson deployment:
lietnaunt on east of tower screened by rhino(nobody's going to shoot him!), foot squads on south and north.
Sneaking around:
He left land raider off. Then he sneaked around for 3 turns. Sentries refused to obey heading straight off. He even killed one in h2h without raising the alarm. End result. Alarm was raised when he charged northern squad! BUMMER!
Crimson 1st:
Not much of a choise. They got to be stopped! Lietnaunt heads to possesseds(led by his lietnaunt). Rhino squad charges one plaguemarine squad. The squad that had charged other squad autocannon squad got charged by my second autocannon squad. In combat lietnaunt's exhange wounds(so much for my character's superiority), I maul his plague marine squad badly with rhino squad, other combat I lose but hold.
Chaos 1st:
Moving forward, rhino blown apart. Combat. My lietnaunt dies without doing a squat(loser). His squad fighting against autocannon squads win and BOTH squads run. Bummer. Other too small to regroup later, other ran 12"...This is not good. Atleast elsewhere I killed reqular marines but aspiring champpion still survived...
Crimson 2nd:
Come reinforcements, COME! And come they did. Defiler from west, obliterator deep striked(could defenders deep strike anyway in this mission?) and raptors arrived from north. Perfect. Shooting. Freshly regrouped unit shot at plaguemarines next to bunker, killed some, defiler opens up(TVR) and straight hit. Remaining dies(phew!). Obliterator peppered some possessed's as did raptor's though 1 died to overheat. Anyway they charged in, left 3+general alive. 3 raptor surviving. And the aspiring champpion dies to my power fist. Take that!
Chaos 2nd:
No reinforcements as of yet. More moving forward. During shooting rhino squad got melted with trio of linked plasma guns at point blank. Ouch! Combat. Raptor's died killing only 1 in return. Bummer.
Crimson 3rd:
Bikes come from east but are very late. Defiler moves forward(got to do it. Situation is too sticky to miss units from defence). Obliterator moves next to possesseds. Shooting. Blew out the nurglings(which were heading toward objective with NO unit nearby that could get to h2h with them) with defiler and fleeing squad's(which couldn't rally) plasma gun. 1 possessed died to obliterator shooting. Combat. Obliterator killed 1 more possessed with power fist for no wounds in return.
Chaos 3rd:
Plague bearers arrive. Bummer. Head toward objective. No shooting of note. Obliterator's aimed at defiler which shrugged lascannons with ease(got to love daemonic possession. 20 pts for 4+ invulnerable save. I'll take it thank you!) Combat. Possessed died, lietnaunt is still alive.
Crimson 4th:
Damn but the objective is getting threatened constantly! When one kills one unit he finds fresh unit arriving. Autocannon squad moved next to plaguebearers. Shooting. Defiler missed(urgh). In assault I killed lietnaunt(and obliterator was still fully intact). 2 plaguebearer died for 1 marine dying. Instability check OK(bummer).
Chaos 4th:
Obliterator's prepared to charge both objective and autocannon squad...Yikes! With what am I going to kill those 3 anyway? In shooting obliterator died to rapid firing point blank plasma guns. Ouchie! 6 wounds to save is way too much for poor obliterator. Assault. THREE plague bearers die(fight, fight, fight!) for no loss from their side but obliterators killed 2 marines. Ouch. Keep fighting boyz!
Game continued. Drat.
Crimson 5th:
Little choise. Bikes have to assault the obliterators. Defilers keep moving and shoots at havocs, 6" scatter. Assault. Wound oblits once, no other harm. Crap. Killed one more plaguebearer. Lost in return autocannon squad(uh oh) and 1 biker.
Chaos 5th:
Havocs prepare to charge bikers!(they had been moving on random turns earlier). In assault bikers get killed, no obliterator died...He concolidiated with oblits around the plaguebearer in contact with objective...I have 2 options. Either game ends now or...
Game didn't end.
Crimson 6th:
I need to charge with defiler into obliterator's, kill all 3 in charge(like that's going to happen) and concolidiate into plague bearer to keep him busy. Alas I only killed 2 obliterator. Game over, tower went apart in flames.
What a game. From bad it went better only to get bad, better and then bad again. Had reinforcement rolls been worse in turn 2(especially raptor's from north was blessing and defiler was required to come and do big bang) it would have been over at once.
