40K Time Line
This has been taken from a number of different sources, on the net, codices, Slaves to Darkness etc – I can’t guarantee the accuracy of all of it, and as I find out more, I’ll add more!!! Apparently, the Imperial dating system works from the same as the present dating system, AD and BC etc, bear in mind the year 0 was in the first millennium, so the present millennium, although 2000 is the third millenium (see Imperial dating systems explained)

M4: 3000 Warp discovered
M4: First fall of the Orks (one of many)
M10 – M19: The Dark Age of Technology
M10: Colonisation of the Outer Halo’s begin
M15: STC construction begin
M16: Sublight spacecraft begin the colonisation of nearby systems

M23: The Age of Strife begins – psychic powers are discovered, warp entities encountered, abhumans found

M28: Emperor born, Primarch project begins, 20 are created but scattered by the powers of Chaos. Tribes united on Earth and the Imperium begins. The Age of Trade starts with the aliens trading amongst themselves.
M29: Primarchs recovered and the First Founding chapters created from the geneseed of the Primarchs, Fall of the Eldar begins – they create Craftworlds in response to the ancient warnings of the Slaan. The Great Crusades begin as mankind attempts to rescue the Outer Worlds.
M30 – M39: The Imperium
M30: The Fall of the Eldar reaches its climax, Slannesh is created. Warp storms continue to cut off the outer worlds. Eye of Terror grows, assisted by the Fall. The Shrine of Asur is founded
With the Great Crusade continuing, geneseed flaws are found as more and more Marines are needed. Horus subverted to Chaos on Davin
M31: 30012 Massacre on Istvaan III – Warmaster Horus and other traitor legions virus bomb Istvaan III, 12 billion die. As Horus’s forces move to Istvaan V, the frigate Eisenstein escapes with news of the betrayal.
30013 7 Marine legions sent to suppress Horus, 4 turn to him and the massacre at the dropzone on Istvaan V takes place. Civil war erupts across the known galaxy as human fights human, marine fights marine – the Horus Heresy continue
30014 Horus assaults Earth and the Emperor’s palace – after the Emperor answers Horus’s challenge and transports onto his battle barge, Horus is killed and the rebellion collapses however the Emperor is mortally wounded. Sanguinius is killed, the Emperor is placed into the Golden Throne.
Marine legions are broken up into smaller Chapters so that they may not become too powerful again.
During the pursuit the 13th Company of the Space Wolves pursue the forces of Chaos into the Eye of Terror and is never heard of again. The Primarchs Guilliman and Rorgal Dorn advise against following the traitor’s into the Eye as they cannot afford to loose more forces, it is not known if Leman Russ was party to the 13th entering the Eye or not.
30014-30021 The Scouring takes place as the forces of Chaos withdraw back to the Eye of Terror, taking Horus’s body with them.
The Second Founding takes place, basing Chapter organisation upon Roboute Guilliman’s model of the Adeptus Astartes – 23 extra chapters are created, the Grey Knights are created to fight the forces of Chaos.
The last Primarch dies. Bjorn the Fellhanded is mortally wounded and sealed into a dreadnought to lead the Space Wolves. The Fang is besieged by Magnus the Red and the Thousand Son’s in revenge for the destruction of their homeworld Prospero.
Worship of the Emperor becomes the official religion and the Adeptus Ministorum is created.
M32: 31200 Ecclesiarch Venaris II becomes a High Lord of Terrra. The contamination of Ganymede takes place in an experiment in warpcore technology, further experiments abandoned
31500 Ecclesiarch becomes a permanent position in the High Lords of Terra
M34: Blackstar Crusade begins – forces of Chaos led by Abaddon move out of the Eye of Terror and assault the Ganglax sector. The world of M’laan XIII is turned into a daemon world by the Khornate champion Ekrak
M35: 34200 The Ecclesiarchy moves to Ophelia VII under to control of Benedin IV
34500 Ecclesiarchy declares it will return to Earth
35266 Sebastian Thor born on Dimamar
M36: Mythos Angelica Mortis written, a compendium of tales and stories about the Marines, including a description of the Emperor’s Champion. Also, during this time, warp storms increased as did attacks from Orks and Chaos. The Ecclesiarchy became more militant and High Lord Vandir comes to power, using the Daughter’s of the Emperor as his personal bodyguard
Wars of Vindication: Tziz Jarek, under orders of Vandir, kills the Grand Master of the Assassins, however he has already replaced himself with another Calidus assassin. Assassin fights assassin in the war that follows until the Grand Master finally kills Tziz Jarek then disappears into self-imposed exile. The Officio Assassinorum is split into different temples, the Ordo Sicarius is created by the Inquisition to watch over them.
Sebastian Thor starts to become a threat to Vandir, a fleet is sent to destroy him but is destroyed in a warp storm. Eventually Vandir is defeated by a combined force.
35288 The High Lords of Terra order that the Ecclesiarchy may have ‘no men under arms’ to prevent another rebellion, they form the Adeptus Sororitas composed of women.
35298 Sebastian Thor leaves Earth
35300 The Ecclesiarchy attempt to create another empire, under the control of Cardinal Bucharis, assisted by Admiral Sehella and Colonel Gasto. When it comes into contact with Fenris in the north, a three year siege of the Fang commences
35378 Sebastian Thor returns to Earth, dies at age of 112. Alexis XXII, Thor’s successor, splits the Convent Sanctorum and Convent Prioris into two orders each, the Orders Militant of the Ebon Chalice, Valorous Heart, Fiery Heart and Argent Shroud are formed.

35776 Steel Legion put down a revolt on Cassell by a cult called The Way of The Emperor’s Flesh in 16 hours
M37: 36563 Assassin despatched to kill the renegade govenor Yawell. The ship is caught in stasis and arrives 698 years late. The assassin finds the cult has taken control with a rebel government a 1000 strong, it takes the assassin three days to poison all the chairs in the Government auditorium.
M38: 37788 Two more orders created – The Order Militant of the Bloody Rose and Sacred Rose.

39924 Vindicare assassin destroys a Gargant on Roxanzand, also assassinates Warlord Urglak
M41: 40139 Abaddon completes the construction of the Planet Killer in the Eye
40100 Lord Solar Macharius begins his crusade
40142 Abaddon leads a Black Crusade in the Gothic sector, destroying all.

40273 Inquisitor Drako visits Stalinvast in his quest for the Black Library, the Hydra is found but Stalinvast is destroyed in the process. He then finds a way into the Eldar Webways and finds the Black Library, only to be attacked by Jain Zarr. Drako passes beyond the mortal realm and becomes one with the Webway.
40474 Armageddon Secundus is caught in warp storm and cut off – food riots begin, the first war of Armageddon begins.

40987 Space Wolves finish the crusade in the Wheel of Fire against the Orks

The VIII Kimmerian regiment is assisted by Jotun Bearclaw’s Great Company fighting the Orks. The great Company refuse to return to Fenris due to the time involved
40995 Battle of Korsk II – Lord Vorlak’s rebellion is put down in one of the greatest tank battles of all times.
At Ichar IV, Marneus Calgar organises the defrences against Hivefleet Kraken. The tyrannid’s are repulsed by a combined force of Marines, Imperial Guard and Eldar

On joku kiireellä tuonkin vetässyt kasaan, koska 2nd - 3rd Ed fluffissa Tyranidit eivät todellakaan onnistuneet tuhoamaan Iyandenia, kunhan murskasivat sen laivaston ja tappoivat suuren osan väestöstä...

Tuo on jonkun verran puutteellinen ja jopa virheellinen.
Mm. täältä löytyy jo aika kattava vaikka ei tätäkään ole vähään aikaan päivitetty.

joo onhan tuossa virheitä, sillä eihän eldareiden fall tapahtunut samaan aikaan kuin heresy... eikä craftworldeja rakennettu siihen tarkoitukseen jossa ne nyt ovat.
