The Story
( Engl. Miksi? Koska tykkään siitä. )
Nearly 10+k years ago, time of the Horus Heresy, in the far edge of the galaxy a battle took place. An Imperial Guard regiment later classified, taken under command by a group of Inquisitors by the Imperial Hierarchy's rules, took on a legion of Chaos Space Marines, their chapter known as the Alpha Legion. Little did the servants of Imperium know what was coming for them.
The battle started raged as the Inquisitors observed it from a rear bunker, issuing commands and planning. Soon it seemed something is going wrong, as a tide of Guards were seen retreating from battle. Huge flashes of laser-energy were seen bursting trough the tide, soldiers screaming in horror.
The Inquisitors hope was starting to fall as the guardsmen were being turned to dust. The members of the Inquisition were shouting out the decree of retreating being punishable by death, little did the guardsmen care.Reportedly one of the Inquisitors ran out of the HQ Bunker into the mist of the battle, ignoring the orders of others. The members of Inquisition were stunned of this rude behavior, their comrade suddenly ignoring their orders as a group. He had continued running down the dusty road, and closed on the rear ranks of the guard.
The guard noticed the lone prosecutor
running towards them, and tried to regroup, or atleast look like it in the fear of the running figure coming to execute them. But he had ran right past them, into battling the Obliterators with his powerfist. Blows of huge force were swapped, as the soldiers watched in awe. Even today you hear stories of this battle.
The rest of the inquisition had finally reached the rear ranks of the Guard, and started to fire their plasma pistols at the fleeing cowards, which was the Imperial code of conduct for traitors. The lone Inquisitor, known as Az'ulrec, had defeated one of the huge Obliterators. He turned back to see his fellow prosecutors blasting off the guardsmen already terrified. He shouted a command at the guard, to destroy the rest of the Inquisitors. The others gazed at Az'ulrec, an eternal rage burning within their eyes...they had been betrayed.
The guard opened fire at the Inquisition, their corpses pierced trough-out by lasgun fire, and they fell down burning. From this moment they were known as Az'ulrec, and the Wailing Black Fleers. Little is known today of the happenings in the side of the galaxy, as pretty much all intel is classified. However, one shot was taken of Az'ulrec and his Traitor Guard, boarding a cargo ship near 10 years ago. The taker of the shot was quickly annihialated by a guard showing in the left side of the image. However it ended up in the hands of the Imperium.
For ten-thousand years not nearly anything but gossip among the Imperial Guard was heard of these Heretics, they seemed to vanished into the rendering planeshifting existence of the Eye of Terror. The files are highly classified, as it is hard to determine if Az'ulrec was the one helping the battle or the other members of the Inquisition. It is believed Az'ulrec's sudden heresy is based on his fanatism being overwhelmed, and he has either thought that he is on the right side, finally, or developed a psychosis and is now leading his men at the wrong enemy. With his charisma and background as an inquisitor, he easily leads his men to face whatever he or his psychosis desires. Later it was found out that Az'ulrec had settled some sort of a deal with Chaos, which outraged the Imperial. But 2400 hours ago, a report of a black guard and a man in a red robe, with a powerfist mutated by chaos into something terrible, was filed at the table of Comissars.
Statistics of the army speak for themselves, they have been battling for over 10+k years, they can easily overwhelm newcoming armies with their old, tested and most importantly, effective, tactics. In their army, most probably, every weapon is an 'old reliable'. They have not received new gear from the imperium, and probably because of Az'ulrecs influence in their minds, they still think they are fighting for the emperor, and hold those rusty Mk-I Lasguns in their hands. Reportedly they have been heard or even reported to have been accompanied by the actual forces of chaos. Rejected reports tell of actual pre-heresy chapters to have been seen with them. It is impossible to foretell what has the mutation and battling given or taken to his forces during the 10.000 years, as it even includes time paradoxes and chronoshifts. This however, is considered a secondary fiction, for now.
