House Guard
When Spearelf units gain the needed experience to move forward on their militaric duty and career they are spoilt for choice: they can either join the provincial unit of their homeland, try to join a regiment beyond their homeland’s borders , or perform as a bodyguard unit to a noble from their province. These units are normally known as House Guard, and they accompany many princes and lower-ranking nobles fighting afoot. House Guard units are respected for their devotion to the noble they serve and are known to fight to the last Elf if needed so. Many records of how these brave soldiers have stubbornly protected their lord in matter how dire situations can be found in the troubled history of the Asur.
House Guard 13 pts/model
For every Commander or Prince you can field a unit of House Guard as Core. These units do NOT count to the mininum of needed Core units in an army.

Equipment: heavy armour, spears, shields, hand weapons.
Options:
* Upgrade one House Guard to a Musician for + 6 pts.
* Upgrade one House Guard to a Standard Bearer for +12 pts.
* Promote one House Guard to a Lord’s Captain for + 12 pts.
* A Standard Bearer may carry a magic standard worth up to 50 pts.
* Any unit including a Commander or a Prince wearing Dragon armour may also choose Dragon armour for +2 point/model.
Special rules:
Fight in three ranks, Bodyguard duty
Bodyguard duty
House Guard must be accompanied by at least one Commander or Prince. The unit is immune to Panic, and may re-roll all Break tests. If a character they’re protecting is slain by the enemy, the House Guard unit (exluding other characters in the unit) will hate the unit responsable for the murderous act. Also, any House Guard trooper may accept a challenge issued to a character inside a unit.
