Gor strode up the last few steps of the ascent and reached the summit, from where he could see the fields of Bretonnia open far below and ahead of him. The flat landscape was littered with towers and castles reaching up to the sky, a sign of the armed presence of the "squishy 'umies" living in that fertile land. The huge black orc had heard of the metal-clad horsemen of this realm. They were supposed to be brave and strong. Worthy opponents for Gor's army - The Grinning Skullz.

"Why we stoppin', boss?" asked a whiny voice from behind. Gor didn't bother to turn around to answer Nibbaz, the night goblin shaman accompanying Gor's WAAAGH!. Instead, he just grunted: "'Cuz I wunted to. Stop whinin' and tell dem ladz we're takin' a break 'ere!" The shaman nodded: "Right away, boss! Will do!" Although powerful in the ways of the orcish WAAAGH! magic, Nibbaz was smart enough not to question the black orc's orders, ever.

Gor gazed down the mountainside. A vast and thick forest of age-old trees and overgrown bushes lied below him, between his boyz and the land of Bretonnia. "We iz gonna go through there. Save uz some time", he muttered to himself.

The guardians of Athel Loren had spotted the orcish force coming down from the mountains long before the orcs had any idea that the enchanted forest was inhabitated by more than just food. A host of dryads and Asrai accompanied by a huge treeman prepared to meet the greenskins. "Despoilers. Slay them all, leave none alive", were the orders of their general - a noble from the green halls of the Asrai.

Gor's troops were alarmed just in time to spread out. Next thing the greenskins knew were the agile elves and forest spirits rushing towards them with arrows flying from every direction. A huge bunch of missilesdestroyed a chariot before it had a chance to move. Fortunately, the rest of the elves' fire was thwarted by the tough skin and armor of the orc boyz. To the shamans' joy, they felt no presence of any foreign magic users in the region and proceeded to unleash the deadly WAAAGH! energy on the unprepared guardians of the forest.

Tearing down large number of elves and spirits with their spells, the shamans proved to be a key element to the battle. Calling a mighty WAAAGH!, Gor and his boyz ran through what was left of the elves' demoralized troops. Even the huge treeman was reduced to firewood. After a bloody afternoon, the night fell on dozens of lifeless corpses, of which only a few were big and green. The woods wouldn't bother Gor's WAAAGH! no more and a pathway leading to their destination opened up as if the trees wanted the butcherers to find their way out of the forest as quickly as possible.

After defeating the tricksy Asrai of the Loren forest, Gor's WAAAGH! made it's way towards the human settled lands of Bretonnia. Eager to test his strength against the armoured knights and their lords, the black orc was certain of victory. The first encounters with the peasants and landowners were short and bloody, ending up in slaughter of the "squishy 'umies". However, as the green horde pressed forward, the noblemen of the land prepared for their counterattack.

Kuva

So it came a morning when Gor woke up in the sound of horns not of orcish origin. The army of the 'umies was here: Standing upon a hilltop there was a wide line of silvery armor shining in the morning sun. Colourful banners flew in the breeze and peasants following their lords prepared stakes on their firing positions. They had even brought a heavy engine of war with them, which was being hastily assembled on another hilltop beside the knights.

Gor rose up and shouted commands to his army, preparing to meet the deadly row of lances. "Why ain't da 'umies attacking?" Gor asked Nibbaz, who was meditating to receive the blessings of Gork and Mork for the battle. From the midst of the goblin's mumbling Gor could discern a couple words: Prayers and honor. "Stoopid 'umies", Gor muttered. "I'll show em Orky 'onor. Puny 'umies."

The greenskins formed a line against the knights and with a mighty roar, Gor ordered them forward. The orcish engines of war slew many knights before they could even move, but that didn't break their resolve to drive the invaders off their land. The first lines of knights charged towards the weedy looking night goblins. With a grin on his face, the commander of the gobbos raised his hand. "Release the loonies!" he yelled and pointed at the charging knights. Soon, the knights found themselves racing towards several whirling balls of death, but came through despite of the horrible losses.

Elsewhere, the same act had repeated itself. Dozens of knight fell to the huge balls and chains of the fanatics. Still the knights pressed on valiantly. A group of pegasus knights swooped down and destroyed all the orcish war machines and the peasants rained pointy death down on the greenskins. Still, the bretonnians quickly found themselves outnumbered and scattered. Their final blow came when Gor ordered a WAAAGH! and charged the bowmen's positions.

When all hope seemed to be lost for the humans. A nobleman carrying the Banner of War challenged the mighty black orc in single combat. Certain of his victory, Gor accepted. But then something happened. As the noble standard bearer prepared to strike on Gor, it was as if an aura of shining light would surround the charging knight. With a speed and skill of an Angel of Vengeance, he struck down the huge black orc before he could react. In the blink of an eye, the courage and ferocity of the orcish horde had vanished and they fled, leaving the badly battered bretonnians cheer for an unlikely victory...

The Warriors Prayer by Manowar

- Grandfather, tell me a story !
- Alright, go and get your storybook
- No, no, not one of those, a real story !
- A real story ?
- Yes, tell me about when you were a boy.
- Well, then I shall have to take you back
with me, a long way in time...

It was my thirteenth year on a cold winter's
day, as I walked through the enchanted forest,
I heard the sound of horses and men at arms,
I felt compelled to walk on and find the place
of these sounds, and when the forest did clear
I was standing on a hill. Before me
was a great plane. Upon it, the armies of the
world, standing, waiting. I thought to myself,
for whom or for what are they waiting ?

Suddenly a gust of wind came up from the north.
There appeared a lone rider, holding a sword
of steel. Then from the south came another,
bearing a battle ax. From the east came a third,
holding a spiked club. And finally, from the west,
a rider who wielded a great hammer of war.
With them came their soldiers of death, followed
by an army of immortals. They were few in number,
but the look in their eyes told all who beheld
them that they would leave this day only in
victory or death. And there was a great silence...

My heart began to pound, storm clouds filled
the sky with darkness, rain came, and the four
winds blew with such anger that I held fast to
a tree. I watched the four riders raise their
weapons into the air. Without warning, screaming
their war cry. They led the attack, down to
the battle they rode. They met the armies of
the world with a mighty clash ! I could feel
the ground shake, the earth drank much blood
that day ! Each of the four, was unto himself,
a whirlwind of doom !!!!!!!!!!

When the smoke did clear, many thousands
were dead. There was much blood and gore.
Their bodies lay broken and scattered across
the battlefield, like brown leaves blown by
the wind. And I saw the four ride together
to the top of the hill, while below them the
soldiers of death assembled, all those who
would now swear allegiance to them. And the
four spoke the words of the warriors prayer...

Glory, Majesty, Unity
Hail, Hail, Hail!!!

After the narrow defeat against the Bretonnian warhost, Gor decided to take his frustrated fury against the lands of the great Empire. The straightest route was obviously through the Grey Mountains, so the green horde set for a journey across the towering peaks that were the mountain range.

Kuva

"Um, boss. Dem mountains...", the small shaman tried to open his mouth against his brutal and angry master. "Wut about dem?" Gor asked, in a manner that the question should be answered well. "Stunties live dere. Lotsa dem", the night goblin replied. Gor stopped for a moment. Earlier in his days he had fought the tenacious dwarfs all too many times, with not-so-good results in general. Still, the passage would save him a lot of time. Time from travelling empty lands without a fight to be had. The decision was, if not smart, very orky. "Good. Time to give dem a lesson", the big orc said and carried on walking the path towards the pass.

The dwarfs wouldn't disappoint the greenskins. They had spotted the horde coming from afar and prepared a mighty host to prevent the orcs from entering their realm. The following battle would be recorded in the Book of Grudges as a victory. For even if dozens and dozens of the dwarfs fell, they were giving no quarter, not an inch. Pivotal to the dwarfs' triumph were a group of slayers, who bravely held against a number thrice their size. In the end, Gor had to abandon the path and succumb to going around the mountains.

Even further frustrated and enraged, Gor's host would not have an easy trip ahead of them. But the WAAAGH!! demanded them to press on. And so they did...
