Purge the unclean

Prologue

None can escape the Emperor's wrath. The Emperor has called a crusade agaist foul forces of Chaos. All four gods of Chaos gathered their mighty legions to exterminate every single Space Marine and drive them to extinction. Led by Agamemnon, Chosen of Chaos gods Chaos Space Marines marched against finest of the Emperor. Another war shall be fought!

Chapter 1

An army of Space Marines, finest warriors of the Emperor stood in launch bay of battleship Salvation. One of the largest battleships ever built by the Imperium. Brother Chaplain Arthonus was leading that crusade.

’’Today the Emperor’s hammer shall bring death to those who deserve it! We are fearless warriors of the Imperium! We are the Emperor’s finest! Today we shall go to war!’’ shouted Arthonus

’’Our bolters are charged with death!’’ replied Space Marines

Arthonus picked his Crozius Arcanum. He kneeled before his acolyte servants and they placed Rosarius around his neck. He turned to his fully assembled warriors.

’’May the Emperor protect us!’’ he said ’’Brothers we go to war!’’

Space Marines in launch bay stepped into their own drop pods. Arthonus was saying his last prayers to the radio before the assault. The sky above the planet Verminus IV was filled with gunfire and gasses that are poisonous to breathe. Large planetary defense turrets directed their fire to approaching drop pods. Turrets managed to destroy couple pods but that wouldnt stop charging Space Marine army. First drop pods landed on surface of the planet. Only command what Arthonus shouted from the radio was…

’’Charge! Charge!’’

Arthonus and his retinue charged to the flanks of the Chaos Space Marines. Arthonus fought with utmost rage and haste. First legion of Chaos Space Marines was defeated easily with suprise that Arthonus gained. He cursed those fleeing servants of Chaos while they were running away.

’’Honorless aliens! Theyre fleeing!’’ shouted Arthonus

jatkoa tulossa kun jaksan kirjoitella!

Tarina/kohtaus oli sujuva, ja siitä sai hyvän selon, mutta jos tulee noin lyhyt ensimmäinen osa, kannattaa alkaa heti saman tien värkkäämään toista. Eli lyhyesti sanottuna ensimmäinen osa oli hyvä, mutta liian lyhyt.

Olisiko lähtökohtasi liian kunnianhimoinen? Kaikki Kaaoksen legioonat vs. Space marinet kollektiivina? Ja joku random chaplain johtamassa space marineita?

Pudota sitä mittakaavaa, oikeasti. Eeppinen taistelu galaksin herruudesta ei ole novellintynkään mahdutettava teema. Ota ihan rauhallisesti vaikka jokin isohko kaaosposse (muutama sata kaaosmarinea ja sekalainen miljoona kultisteja ja mutantteja) ja parin komppanian verran jotain marine-chapteria, niin et munaa heti kättelyssä siihen, että mopo lähtee alta.

Kieliasussasikin on vähän viilattavaa jo ihan perusasioissa; mm. epämääräisiä ja määräisiä artikkeleita puuttuu.

Lisäksi tarinaa vaivaa ihan älytön vauhti, jolla homma etenee. Ensin ollaan tässä, sitten hetkessä ollaan planeetalla, ja humps vaan, yksi vihollislegioona oli jo hävinnyt olemattomiin. Lähtökohdastasi lopetustilanteeseen olisi mahtunut helposti parisataa sivua proosaa.

Pahin ongelma on siinä, että haukkasit liian ison palan ja yritit niellä sen helposti ja nopeasti.

Jep tuolle planeetalle siirtyminen tapahtui kyllä aivan liian nopesti ja kyllä tarina jäi lyhyeksi. Seuraavasta osasta yritän tehdä pitemmän kun kerkiän. Ja myös taistelu meni ohi liian nopeasti.
