Necron huhut

Viesti Kirjoittaja Z7-852 »

31.08.2007 kirjoitti:Has anyone goto GamesDay and hear additional rumors besides those below for the upcoming Necron release in 2008? They say its going to be a release similar to Tau Empires - fewer new model and streamlining rules. I have heard:

* WBB replaced with FNP.
* Necron Warriors and Immortals get SAP, T increase by 1, and point increase.
* Phase Out gone!
* Three different options of Necron Lords.
* Veil is nerfed (sends unit to reserve, but can deep-strike next turn).
* One new HS unit choice.

I don't see how Phase Out can be gone - I'd just play C'Tan and 3 Monoliths if that were to happen.... I'm sure if they do that, they would take that into account.
18.03.2010 kirjoitti:...Necrons have completed the initial concept phase of their line expansion. Release schedule is currently for January 2011.

This conceptual phase has been stop-start for some time – it is a product range that has massive potential, and Games Workshop have been very uncertain of the most lucrative theme by which to capitalise on its fanbase. The development is considered a high-risk investment – a commitment problem that the team is well aware of, and is exacerbated by there being multiple such high-risk line expansions currently being pursued.

3 multi-part plastic kits have been finalised as:

- Immortals
- Spyders
- The Necromancer

Immortals are on a large (35mm) base; they are redesigned as larger, bulkier and more dynamic.

Spyders have 3 different builds

The Necromancer is the central sell of the line expansion and has been the focus of much of the early design process. It has been through several incarnations (and names), but is essentially of the same principle as the Bone Giant for the Warhammer Fantasy range. It has a mechanised skeletal torso housing a suspended crystal, and will likely have a choice between two horrific weapons.

That is all the information I can disclose. I will not post any more.

I would like to add that development staff are getting very frustrated by headquarters’ increasingly tyrannical policies – within and between departments – with regards to information restriction. It’s absurd, and unnecessary.

Tuollaisen löysin ihan google haulla, joten en mene takuuseen aitoudesta. Uskokoon ken haluaa, mutta ainakin ihan järjellisen kuuloisia huhuja ovat, joten voivat hyvinkin pitää paikkansa. Ainakin josain määrin.
Hello, I can't start a thread.

I have some information regarding the development of a Necron codex. I do not normally come on Warseer, but thought you would appreciate this information – hence the small number of posts. You have no reason to put faith in me – and I am not prepared to prove my validity at potential detriment to my career. I do not want to specify my exact employment with Games Workshop for this reason.

Ja toi oli tosiaan postattu "15-03-2010, 16:23" , joten on myös suhteellisen uudesta informaatiosta kyse.

In order to stop yourself looking completely stupid, I suggest you do the following BEFORE posting any new rumours or questions.

1) Read the first post
2) Check the time this post was last edited

Please keep the discussion related to new rumours or how current rumours may impact you or other rules etc.

GENERAL INFO

First of all we thanks The Dude and Brimstone for all info posted in thread.

Necrons are said to appear in 2010, april 2010 at the latest.

we also thanks silverstone08 for this:

Here it is said that necrons could appear in January, February also if it is more likely that those dates are for tyranids and necrons should appear in march-april.

Codex is 90% written by Phill kelly and it is said that it is in the making and should be finished in 2 or 3 months.

RULES

First of all: PHASE OUT WILL BE FINALLY REMOVED

At 99% C'Tan will be removed from codex and will become forge world apocalypse only creatures.

There will be 3 or 4 tiers from lord, the more likly rumors say that there will be a normal lord, a destroyer lord, a wraith-lord and maybe a spyder lord.

Some say we can expect to see Named Lords such as those that appeared in the Medusa V campaign background.

the substitution of "we'll be back" rule has been widely discussed but it is very likely to remain and have some rules changed.

The necron rule is likely to give this special rules: stubborn, we'll be back at 99% but it could give slow and purposeful.
(a personal consideration: in planetstrike the necron attack stratagem makes necrons move through difficult terrain without making tests, this could be because of the slow and purposeful rule)

There are possible rumors of a +1T boost to 60% necron units, at 90% warriors will receive it.

Warriors will most likely have T5, gauss flayer, necron rule(s), I2 or 3 and will possibly be equipped with a sort of grenade and will be 23 points exactly like nurgle marines.

The gauss rule has no news.

The monolith will maybe have some special rules addon and will arrive at 300points.

It is said that pylon will appear in codex.

More than one new unit is being developed now, surely necrons will have a new vehicle (obelisk or a walker scorpion...)

Rumors say that there will be 2 types of scarabs: normal and builder scarabs which could act as a globe.

Wraiths are said to become 50 points with 3+ (I), I6, Str6 and power weapons or rending, it is more likely that they will have power weapons because of not making them anti-vehicle with the rendind weapons.

There should be 1 new type of destroyer with a gauss flamer.

BACKGROUND

Background will be expanded going to go into a bit more detail of the Necrons now & before they became machines.

Rumours seem to indicate that GW is still playing with where they want the background to sit.

Miniatures

New Plastic Flayed Ones and immortals in boxes of 5 or 10

There could be a lord plastic set with all the possible builds.

same thing could happen with destroyes in plastic boxes of 1 or 3

From Warseer as usual (thanks to Captain Ventris):

Necrons are being redone, will fall after IG, DE, and Spacewolves are done and released...so late 2009ish

No there is NOT a new monolith coming that I've heard of, however there is a new Vehicle called the Obelisk, supposed to be essentially an immobile Monolith without the portal but a little better all around shooting weapon. (Particle whip works the same way as monolith). Its supposed to always DS same as a 'lith, moving offending models out of the way and its supposed to be reasonably sized (slightly taller than a monolith but somewhat not as stout, I've not seen pictures and nor has he)

Additionally Necrons are losing WBB in favor of FNP, the Gauss weapons are gaining Rending to lower the odd rules count and with the 5th ed. Rending rules this sounds to be about the same as they work now with some added kick against infantry

Necron models will be supposedly also getting Slow and Purposeful, Disruption fields will be standard kit, and there will be an increase in points per model.

Rez orb will get a 12" range rather than 6" and always allow a Necron Model to take his FNP test regardless of anything short of a vortex grenade

Necrons are losing Phase out to make them more tournament friendly

There is also supposed to be a new Necron Unit (he described it as a close-combat/shooty unit) as well as re-sculpts of the Tomb Spyder, Lords, and a re-cut of the Warriors legs to make them fit on the bases a little better. Also two new pieces of kit for the Lords, one Gives him the Anti-Psyker rule the Pariahs have, and the other is something akin to a powerfist that strikes at normal initiative, but at Str. 6, not 8

He also said that they were discussing bringing in a new C'Tan God, but that being that there are only four remaining, one of which is on Mars, that was probably going to be axe'd.
