special rules: All: Small Targets. Venomous only: poisoned attacks (5+), Lethal Bite: When a venomous headcrab assaults a target with multiple wounds, it makes a single attack (no charge bonuses whatsoever), that wounds on a 2+. This attack does not work against monstrous creatures or vehicles, in which case they will strike as normal, wounding on 5+. This attack allows armour saves as normal. It reduces the target's wounds to 1 for the rest of the current assault phase. At the start of the next assault phase (i.e.on the opposing player's turn) the target's wounds return to normal if it was not killed during the last assault phase. The Combine player may choose how many Venomous Headcrabs in the unit may use this special attack and how many fight as normal.
transport: If the unit numbers 7 models or less, they may Deep Strike onto the battlefield using headcrab pods. These follow the normal deep strike rules but with a couple exceptions: The pods do not roll on the deep strike mishap table if they come into contact with an enemy unit (though for coming into contact with impassable terrain etc. they follow the normal rules), but instead the headcrabs inside are moved into contact with the unit they hit in the assault phase, but strike at Initiative 1 as they clumsily crawl out of the pod. The pod also inflicts S3 AP- hits on all enemy units within 4" of its landing spot. Once the landing pods' effects are resolved they are effectively removed from the battlefield and serve no further purpose. The cost of using headcrab pods is always counted as a part of the unit's points value.
