Hi!,

My name is Rubén and I'm going to move to Joensuu in October to do my PhD, and I want to follow with my hobbies over there!. So, with your permission, I have some questions :P

Although I'm a painter rather than a player, I'm interested in two wargames: Flames of War and Bolt Action. I was the other day in Joensuu (doing my interview) and I went to Fantasiapelit, and I was talking with a FoW player. So I know there are some active players and I will carry some miniatures (a german army). But what about Bolt Action?, anyone know this game from Warlord games? Nowadays it's winning fame in Spain and I like the game!.

On the other hand, I saw some Airsoft guns in Fantasiapelit. I often play airsoft and I would want to know whether there is any Airsoft community over there.

Hello Rubén, welcome to the forum! It's nice to have some international "reinforcements" in the local hobby scene. And sorry for the late reply.

There's "Yhteystiedot" sticky (more or less up-/outdated), where local gamers have told about themselves and the games they play. Although, it might be rather hard for you to read because, obviously, it's in Finnish. I'm also a painter and trying to get back to the gaming scene, so I don't know about Bolt Action.

I recommend you to introduce yourself to Joensuu Geek Meet (Facebook group). It's lively group with lots of hobbyists from different fields and they have weekly gaming evenings. I'm sure they can give you info about local airsoft activity and anything else. This forum can be sometimes rather quiet or less observed, so your messages might slip through unnoticed or unanswered.

Bolt Action is a "new" game (It was released one year ago) about WWII, it's too easy to play and you only need a few of miniatures. It's like WH40k but with historical miniatures! :P.
