4th game vs Norwegian Blue's Mikkel Christensen (aka Dagowit on the PP forums)
He had eBaldur's ARM skew tier and eKaya's new tharn ravager tier. I knew he would take eBaldur so I needed to play another Asphyxious2 to have a chance at cracking the armor.
I got to go first which was really good and I ran a long way because eBaldur's threat ranges aren't that terrifying.
Except for the Lord of The feast with 20" deployment for the stones and double teleport. Whoops. I was camping 4 though so my caster wasn't in danger. He got in the middle of some bane knights and satyxis and made a thresher sized hole where some 5'ish guys of mine were. The rest of his force came cautiously forward with only the woldwatchers toeing the zone.
I could've done the basic cryxian full monty with running aimlessly forward but instead I cursed the other woldwatcher, which I charged with a few bane thralls for half or so of his damage boxes. I also got a stone killed from the non-stelathed set. All of the rest of my forces stayed at the far edge of the scenario zones, waiting for targets to come forward.
He had to feat to come to the zone. He killed and RFP'd the few guys who had charged but otherwise didn't get any kills. Megalith came to the middle of the other zone to cast a crevasse, needing a six to hit. Mikkel thought his dice had been bad so was a bit paranoid so decided to boost the hit roll and went on to roll 5 on 3 dice. Ouch!
I had a bunch of my guys rfp'd with 6 guys killed. I decided to feat with the 6 guys as getting rid of Megalith was definitely a priority against his list. Also I could get some of the banes into eBaldur himself who had 2 trasnfers and 19 ARM instead of the 22+ everyone else had. I tried to get rid of the druids so I boosted a spray from the defiler. Got one but not the leader. Tartárus charged through a building and got Baldur, Megalith and a druid in his tresher range. I cursed Baldur because he was my main way to get damage through transfers into his beasts. My banes charged Megalith and the shifting stones screening him. The shifting stones vanished, even with ARM 21 and Megalith was down to 7 or so hit boxes with only my caster to go.
Asphyxious charged a shifting stoned, killed it, feated 6 models and remembered to teleport away!! I decided to try how many models would fit to charge eBaldur. The first one surely did, but didn't get to move 3" for the charge bonus but went on to roll 5,5,6 for the damage like a boss. I don't know why but Baldur died at this point. Maybe he didn't have any transfers left or something. Another win where I wasn't really planning on doing a casterkill but accidentally did it anyway. Killed a few shifting stones and the caster but scored nearly 50 army points and 3 control points since his battlegroup didn't contest the zones anymore.
5th game vs United Nation's Dyland Simmer from Australia
He played Issyria with Hyperion, Discordia, Magehunter Strike force and some other stuff. I chose eAsphyxious as I needed to deal some damage to the warjacks when I get there and the satyxis might give me an advantage against his shooting.
I got to go first. We calculated that there was exactly 19" between our AD'd Satyxis and MHSF, so I couldn't run and engage on my first turn. Instead I ran 7ish inches so he couldn't aim my satyxis. The banes fell in behind the satyxis, while the other flank advanced full spd.
Dyland took his MHSF 1-2" backwards so he wasn't in the satyxis' charge range and advanced the rest of his stuff a little forward.
I thought this was all to my advantage because I was closer to the scenario zones and my other flank was moving past the mid-line so my satyxis flank just advanced the same 1-2 inches to once again be outside his aiming range.
Dyland took his feat turn. Discordia came forward and took down Tartarus and got admonition on himself. The MHSF shot some satyxis, but as the UA was still up I was immune to blast damage which saved me from some elements of the list alltogether. Hyperion came forward trying for a massive crit, but failed to hit entirely, which was truly game changing.
On my turn I ran a satyxis behind Discordia (who took the admonition move, but he had to go through rough going because of my satyxis being in the way so couldn't get to safety) and the rest charged the MHSF, and after some miraculous dice, i killed like 6 of them and engaged a good part of the rest. My front banes were just numerous enough to take down discordia with their last attack. I ran everything else way up the table to score some points next turn. I think I scored to 1-0.
He's turn he had some bad rolls and failed to kill the satyxis in melee.
My turn my plan was to take my feat, cast parasite on the hyperion, but I made some miserable play errors and failed the charge with Asphyxious, so I decided to hug the flag and camp 6 (i had hellbound up) instead. The bane knights got into the MHSF and rolled some 8's like a boss, with some 9's as well to kill both Ayana and Holt. 'Because why not, right?
He killed a bunch of stuff and had the option to trample Hyperion forward and buy attacks on Asphyxious with 2 focus, but as he needed 9's to hit that propably wouldn't have been enough so he killed a shitload of banes instead. I think I had 4 bane knights remaining.
On my turn I forgot about vengeance on the knights, which was massive as I could've taken a few tries to roll 8's to take down the rest of his shooters, but more importantly I could've moved in his back arc before my activation. Oh well. My plan was to feat-kill hyperion, and take down or engage all of the MHSF and stormfall archers, but I had a helldiver who got up near Issyria, so I thought what the heck, let's do this first and ran the Skarlock commander base to base with Issyria and slammed it in the back with the helldiver, boosted the hit and got the 6 I needed. After that I charged 2 bane knights into the knocked down Issyria and got a caster kill with the dice off 2 damage rolls. Another casterkill I didn't plan for.
6th game vs Austria White's Daniel Pawelka
He played trolls and to me it was obvious he was going to play Calandra. I had tested the match with eAsphyxious and it wasn't too comfortable so I decided to play pDeneghra to stay out of star crossed, when making my attack rolls.
I got to go first and I ran so that most of my important stuff got to be in trenches (he had double bombers so the immune to blast damage was huge), while most of the actual army just stayed out of threat ranges alltogether. Deneghra moved up camping 7 so she could get a feat off next turn. My plan was to try to kill his Nyss on my feat turn and grind my way to victory.
He moved up, took a few shots, killed a nyss or two and one of my necrosurgeons with a good deviation. He also knocked down Dougal, who is immune to AOE attacks. Calandra came up, cast Star crossed, put some fury on the stone and camped 3. Janissa critically put her wall up in front of the bomber and not Calandra.
On my turn I thought I had a good shot at assassination (and I was really tired) so I went for it. Dougal forfeited his action, moved up and minifeated. Gorman moved up and threw his acid bomb on the three krielstone bearers blocking LOS to calandra. I killed one and knocked down 2. My withershadow combine moved up, put puppet master on Deneghra and shot the two knocked down krielstone bearers for two souls. The krielstone aura went down as well. I couldn't figure out the probability of hitting scourge on calandra to knock her down. I moved up, feated Calandra to DEF 12 (?) so I needed to roll a 5 to hit in Star crossed. I had the puppet master reroll so I felt confident and went unboosted. I got it easily and cast a parasite on her as well.
Teemu was having a hard time consentrating on his game on the next table as he heard me go over Calandra's defensive stats, which were DEF5, ARM 9 at this point. I got 7 of my
Nyss to shoot Calandra at 3 to hit and +1 for damage to end the game. One acutally missed because of Star crossed, but I got an early win which was good so I could relax with a cold beer.
Here's a picture of Calandra (the one with ALL the tokens) just before the Nyss started their combat action:
