Pidän erityisesti tuosta LD pohjaisesta kohteenvalinta jutusta ja tankkien mobilisoinnista.
Ja niin joo, onko tämä nyt oikea foorumi vai pitäisikö kuulua yleisiin keskusteluihin?Gordy2000 kirjoitti: Well well, unlike me to have a scoop (or even post in rumours, but there you go)
I have in front of me the trade notification from GW concerning 4th edition. I wont post it in its entirety, but here are the main points:
* As already posted, the core strategy in the revised rules is that all current codexes and models will remain compatible with the new rules
* The rules will come out as a stand alone book - a normal and deluxe version (no details)
* The introductory boxed set will be based on "The Battle for Macragge"
* It will include (obviously) Marines and Tyranids
* All the box set figures can be assembled without glue in under 30 minutes (confirming the "starter" mini rumour)
* As already posted, the terrain piece is the very nice crashed shuttle
*The rule set in the box set is smaller than the stand alone product, without all the colour hobby pages.
The gist of the hobby content certianly seems to be allowing games to be played at different levels - and appealing to both the hobbyist and gamer market (not stupid really)
The reasons for key changes
*Speed up the game
*More dynamic battles
*Closer range firefights (?)
*Reward larger unit sizes (go Orks and Guard!)
*Make close combat more risky but more rewarding
The key rules changes (no further details)
*Improved line of sight and leadership based target selection (hello? - this is new)
*Close assualt rules developed from trial ones
*Vehicle rules more dynamic - move and fire and more rigorous damage tables (hmm - datafax?)
*Improved rapid fire rules (eek! Orks and Guard flee!)
*Changes to indirect rules
*Morale checks to charge Monstrous creatures
It will be interesting to see the detail (where the devil always is) but at first glance it does have promise.
Minua viisaammat saavat päättää.
