Ignition of Malice
Eye of Hatred
The chimera was thrown sideways as sudden barrage almost hit it. Luckily Piet was an old veteran and with his lightning quick reflexes he had fastened the seatbelts before any of the incoming shells had hit ground. Unluckily the guardsmen who had been with him weren’t so experienced and now they flew all over the interior. Piet closed his eyes and prayed for Emperor as he heard sickening crunch and then a soft bump as the body dropped to the floor. The other man managed to scream before his skull was bashed against the steel egde. As the chimera skidded to halt, sideways still, Piet opened his eyes and noted that something was wrong. He was hanging from the other side of the interior. He moaned as he smelled the reek of the blood, and then he felt terror as he smelled other unpleasent smell, fuel. He moaned and tried to wrench himself from the tight belt system. Suddenly the back door was opened from outside and figure appeared from the gap, coming only halfway as its bulky body prevented it to come fully inside the interior. With the bright sunshine coming outside Piet didn’t manage to get a clear view of the figure, but he did notice its gleaming green eyes. The figure seemed to chuckle and then it left, leaving Piet in certain doom.
As the figure paced away it started to laugh more freely, and Piet heard this but he hadn’t time to think it. As the figure managed to get within a hundread paces of the chimera, it vanished in a gleamy orange fireball, the heat washing away as the figure laughed and wrenched its huge axe to its shoulder.
´There wouldn’t be any martial honor to gather the skulls of the already dead.´ Thelacan said and looked Kharngar.
´Indeed, if we would do that our Patrion would be buried in the skulls.´ Khảrngar replied and grinned by the amusing thought. Thelacan chuckled.

´Are you all right? You look much more whiter than usually.´ Julius asked from Ellard who seemed to lost his though to somewhere beyond the human eye.
´Yeah... I think so...´ Ellard muttered back. Taking deep breath and turned to face Julius.
´Look... Promise me that you won’t tell anybody about this conversation.´ Ellard said.
´Uh, okay. I won’t.´ Julius replied and raised a brown in puzzle.
´I saw last night some most terrible nightmares man can have. I believe that on this planet is something extremely evil, and I don’t mean the orks. Something much more... Evil. Those dreams still gives me the creeps, and it ain’t a good thing. In the wildest guessings I could say that Chaos has descended on this planet, once more to do their stuff, whatever it is.´ Julius’s face turned into a shock as Ellard finished his sentence.
´You say that Chaos might be on this planet? And ho-´ Julius asked in disbelief but Ellard stopped him.
´I don’t wanna talk about it... But please, don’t tell anybody about this or I’ll get shot by either that commissar or the Astartes.´ Ellard pleaded. Julius nodded.
´Don’t worry, I won’t. But I hope that you are wrong.´ Julius replied.
´Yeah, me too... Me too...´ Ellard sighed.
Brother-captain Thyrganian walked to them.
´Ready your men, sergeant, because were leaving.´ Thyrganian said coldly.
´Uh, leaving? Where?´ Julius asked, bit confused.
´To find some orks.´ the space marine replied and smiled. Then Thyrganian left back to his enplacement. Ellard and Julius shared a puzzled glance before they started jogging towards the others.
Adolf just managed to put together his grenade launcher after he had cleaned it, and suddenly as Ellard and Julius appeared they caught him by surprise and he almost dropped it. He cursed at them but they just smiled back.
´You’re going to do that much more often within a while.´ Ellard said to Adolf.
´What, cleaning the gun?´ Adolf asked. Ellard smiled.
´No, cursing I mean.´ Ellard chuckled. Adolf gave him a sneer but smiled a bit.
´Okay, enough chit-chat. We’re rolling out. So take all the necessary things we need and your kits.´ Julius stopped them after he had waken Brim and Hastings and fetched Johnson outside to in.
´What?´ mumbled Hastings who were still bit in a sleep. Hastings cursed silently about something.
´Were going to find some orks.´ Julius replied. Hastings stopped cursing. Then he almost jumped out of the bed and gathered his kit.
´Can we already go?´ Hastings asked anxiously as he managed to gather his kit. Julius smiled.
´Maybe we should wait for the others. Don’t worry, you’ll see plenty of orks to kill.´ Julius replied and tapped the Hastings on the shoulder.

Coridus gazed over the green sea, trying to get a minimal headcount of the mob. He gave up in disgust as there were too many orks and once again they were fighting with each other, he sighed with frustration. He turned to see his chosen warriors. Thirty his best soldiers were with him now on the planet and he felt reliefed by their presence. He took deep breath, his snake-like servo-arms jaws closing and opening in motion as he breathe, as if it had life of its own. He nodded towards them and one of them stepped forwards to meet him. It was his second-in-command, Urialih. Urialih had removed his helmet and his long black hair looked marvelous as it wawed in the slight breeze, the sight was sure to scare any guardsman.
´What are your orders?´ Urialih said in an old gothic tone which combined to his look made him even more terryfying.
´We shall lead that orkoid horde to the imperialis, and help the orkoids with our superior siege skills and our mighty artillery.´ Coridus replied.
´Aye, my master.´ Urialih said, turning his gaze on the orks.
´Why those animals have even a scientific name? Have the Inquisition lost their mind?´ Urialih spat. Coridus chuckled.
´We do not care if somebody has a name or not, scientifical or in some vile alien tongue. It is the death that matters, everyone is equal to get killed, slaughtered or tortured. In the name of Chaos we shall even liberate people from the curse of the Corpse God if they wish it!´ Coridus replied. Urialih took a long look at him. Then Urialih bursted to laugh out loud.
´It is sure that no-one will escape your wrath or liberation if you really want to cause it.´ Urialih chuckled and tapped to the shoulder guard of Coridus. Coridus sneered at him.
´Honestly I don’t give a frag if somebody would like to feel the liberation of Chaos, I’d rather do them a favor and shot them dead.´ Coridus sneered.
´Aye. When are we supposed to attack the imperialis?´ Urialih asked. Coridus didn’t reply. Instead he shaked his head and sighed.
´Tell them to start the bombardment, we’re going in a style.´ Coridus murmured to him. Urialih nodded and backed away.

´Forward!´ yelled Thyrganian from the top hatch of the Land Raider Crusader. The noise was incredible as over twenty tanks roared to life. But the noise managed to drown the sound of the incoming shell. The Land Raider next to the Crusader was obliterated into a million pieces as the accurate barrage fire from the Iron Warriors hit home. Huge piece of armour plates hit the Crusader in the side, rendering its left Hurricane Bolter rack useless.
´Emergency disembark! Now! Quickly and get in to the cover!´ Thyrganian screamed and climped out from the Crusader’s top hatch. He jumped just in time as another shell hit home. It was luckily so accurate fire that it went throught the hatch of the Land Raider, it came through the lower armour of the tank as the upper armour didn’t absorb the shells force. It exploded within the ground, threwing everyone around and disabled the Land Raider but didn’t kill anyone except one who had been under the hatch at the time.
´Take cover!´ yelled somebody over the noise. And then the sound was silenced as another shell hit the ground, creating crater which diameter was over 10 metres long. Shells keep coming for an quarter of a hour. Thyrganian had managed to find a safe spot. He observed the cratered field, trying to get the estimated damage of the sheer violence of the bombartment had caused. The screams of the wounded, the moan of the dying, the cursing of the living. The noises were so clear, there were no tank engines roaming, nor was there the explosions and the shriek of the bombs. He snapped into the reality.
´Defensive positions! Take your places and prepare for an attack!´ Thyrganian yelled. He gazed over the supposed en route the orks would attack. It was dead quiet. Only the slight breeze moved in the ruined city. He readied himself to hear the warcry of the orks, but it never came. Thyrganian fingered the activation rune of his sword nervously. The bombartment had rendered them almost completely, they had no vehicles for support, nor for a safe fall back. Only the tanks could do now was serving as cover for them.
As another quarter of an hour had gone Thyrganian decided.
´All units, were advancing as per mission plan. Thyrganian out.´ he voxed. He looked over the rubble and saw that scouts were on the move. As the scouts advanced on the open street they darted to the houses for cover. Two marine squads followed them and secured the buildings. As the marine squads re-entered the street they were halted by heavy fire from the building at the end of the street. They took cover from houses and stayed there, pinned. Few marines laid on the ground, their armour broken and pierced from many places. Thyrganian cursed and looked over his shoulder to the guards’ position.
´Techpriest Thrialex Ignis Sepulchra, are you having that tank getting repaired? We would appreciate it immediate support. Over.´ he voxed.
´This is Techpriest Thrialex Ignis Sepulchra. I have the tank repaired and ready-to-go less than two minutes. Over and out.´ came the hissing reply. Thyrganian took a swift look at the house. It was still spraying the murdering fire. He returned his gaze to the distant figure of the techpriest. Trialex seemed to do still small adjustments. And as he lift his thumb up as signal for Thyrganian the tank roared to alive. Thyrganian smiled and wawed. The crew of the Leman Russ battle tank re-crewed it and turned it to the spacce marines position.

Iron Warrior Angrus clipped in new belt and raised his heavy bolter and pulled the trigger. The storm of bullets kept the space marines in their position as the main force tried to flank them. He smiled coldly as the bullets kept scourging the already dead space marines. His fellow Iron Wariors added their heavy weapons and bolters to the salvo, creating deafening noise. His heart sank as he saw the barrel of the Leman Russ battle tank appearing behind the building.
´In the name of Chaos, bring that tank down!´ he yelled. The bullets rang off from the tanks armour. It halted. It started to reverse it turret. Angrus clenched his teeth as the turret halted, the barrel pointing at them. Suddenly a missile erupted from the lower floor of the house and hit the tank on the front armour. Angrus felt reliefed but as the smoke cleared he cursed. The battle cannon roared. The building dissolved into a big, grey cloud of dust. The house collapsed, taking the remaining Iron Warriors with it.
