Yhdellä istumalla kirjoitettu, joten valittakaa kaikessa rauhassa asiavirheista ja kirjoitusasun vammoista. Kokonaisuutta en aio muuttaa, vaikka yksityiskohtien kimppuun saatankin käydä.

Omega Legion

Origins:
Omega Legion was created during the 2nd Founding. Their origin was veiled in secrecy and their orders were top-secret. Only after their first appearence in Imperial territory during First War of Armageddon 444 M41 it became apparent that this chapter had fallen to Chaos. However this was no suprise to High Lords of Terra, who were not ignorant about their origins.

Omega Legion was founded from few loyal companies and platoons of legions fallen entirely to Chaos. As such they were one of the few sources of geneseed of traitor legions during those violent times. Omega Legion never received organized training or indoctrination to Imperial Rule. They were bunch of unreliable and disobedient inviduals bunched together and sent somewhere. As mean of getting rid of these loyal, but unreliable marines within heart of Imperium they were instructed with apparently hopeless suicide-mission. Legion was armed with battle-worn cruiser Damocles and sent to Maelstrom to make countless planets from this territory Imperial. No-one thought they would succeed, but time and time again Omega Legion has been spotted. Their original commander was Chaplain Edrick Sonstein, originally from Blood Angels Legion. However he succumbed to Black Rage tremendously quick and was instructed as chapters master. He fought Black Rage with his newfound purpose and was able to keep his rage at bay. At least most of time.

After his untimely death in hands of mysterious metal-creatures during chapters time of disappearance he was entombed within ancient Dreadnought and renamed Ensio. This metal creature only increased his rage and he was bound within chapters mobile home Damocles as a weapon of fear. Only during the worst times is he released from his rage.

Homeworld:
Omega Legion has no home as they were created to die. Many of their teachings refer to Damocles as Road of Salvation and they have recruited soldiers from almost every world they have visited. However chapter has been noticed to search actively inhabitable planet ignorant about their origins.

Combat doctrine:
Omega Legion fights with adaptation. They have studied Index Astartes thorougly, but have adopted only few matters from it. They make great use of infantry specialised to varying tasks. Thus they have assault squads and fire-support squads and some more specialised weaponry. They have limited amount of vehicles and specialised weaponry forcing them to rely on their personal weaponry and use of initiative and those weapons and vehicles are mostly scavenged from varying sources. "If it works, do it" - can be used as their motto of combat.

Organisation:
Omega Legion is divided into several Platoons with specialised tasks. Thus there is Anti-Tank Platoons, Medical Platoons, Assault Platoons etc. Leader of these Platoons is voted from members by members and remains in this task until he dies, quits voluntarily or designated time has passed which leads to new voting. Platoon-Masters vote seven of them to work as Council of Seven to lead whole legion.

Beliefs:
Edrick Sonstein believed greatly in three matters, which made him greatly respected by his underlings, even though he may not have felt same at first. Self-reliance, sense of honor and unflinching bravery were encouraged within chapter and was adopted with great zeal. Omega Legion considers itself redeemed when they find a Home. As they are driven by hope of redemption, they have pride in their prowess of combat. As such they respect bravery in all its forms.

Omega Legion is divided into three loose ranks.
Recruits are people recruited from different planets to fight with them with normal weaponry. They are the ultimate group of soldiers eager to prove themselves worthy of becoming true marines. As they lack genetic enhancements of marines their fatality-rate is great, and they are encouraged to fight with their own initiative.
Troopers are fully trained and enhanced marines filling the ranks of Legion. They are recruited to one of Platoons and receive additional training in it. Troopers are tranferred from Platoon to another to make them more skilled in varying aspects of warfare.
Officers lead Omega Legion in battle and Council of Seven decides all major decisions (recruiting new marines, travel route and diplomacy). Chapter Master, or Marshall is selected from Council and that task lasts until death.

Geneseed:
Omega Legion's geneseed has proven to be very stable. Even as they are from varying legions, they have mutated only marginally. However flaws is original Legions geneseeds has lead to some drastic changes. Assault Groups, which are mostly from World Eaters have developed inhuman ferocity. it is noted, that chapter mimes its original legions in enhancing proving, that World Eaters indeed were altered also from brains making them tremendously ferocious. Omega Legion apparently encourages using disadvantages as tools of battle.

As Omega Legion recruits its members from older people instead of teenagers it is suspected, that they have been able to alter procedures to create marines less discriminate with some heretic know-how of Fabius Bile. This is however pure speculation. Proved action is however their cannibalisation of geneseed. Omega Legion removes the implants of other marines they have fought and uses them in their own purposes. This is slow operation, which can be performed only after solid victory and with great care.

Battlecry:
Varying Platoons have varying battle-cries, but most often heard is from Assault Platoons "Gimme more!" Mostly they answer to demands of surrender with simple line: "To the End. " When they fight to the End, they never surrender.

Chapter Master:
Current Marshall of Omega Legion is known as Dreaded Red Fred. His origins are originally from Contquan III and he was recruited few hundred years after Iron Hands had pacified this region. Genocide performed by Iron Hands had left Contquan III especially terrified. Fred was determined and proud man of great devotion. He respected life and liberty over everything. He was also very interested about liberty of spirit, which was crushed by fear of Black Hunters, whom were believed to stalk within mountains.

As Omega Legion resembled greatly of these Hunters Fred had decided to fight against them. He approached Legion alone armed only with a knife and ancient firearm and defeated five marines before he was subdued. He was released from custody and Fred attacked Legion again - this time with greater force and was greeted with open arms. There was no need to arrange tests to find out their suitability. Fred was himself brave and skilled enough to be altered directly and all his companions were also brave indeed. After this brief ceremony Omega Legion launched itself back to space disappearing without trace.

However this was only first of his deeds within Legion. As recruit-officer (leads recruits in battle) he showed intuitive skill and was also noted from his good attitude towards his underlings. Fred's body suffered no ill effects from enhancements and also many of his companions were enhanced to marines forming his bodyguard. Genome of his enhancement was originally from Night Lords, which made him very grim. He knew only his loyalty towards his friends as matter of any meaning.

As his predecessor Marshall Valek was seriously wounded in battle against Feral Imperial Guard trained by Sons of Corax, Fred was forced to take command. However Valek recovered and noticed how well Fred had performed. He was man of great skill especially in precognition and foresaw great future in Fred. Valek removed his badge of office and chose to leave legion within small shuttle and band of chosen followers for unreachable quest - Home of Night. What he referred to is unknown, but Council of Seven was gathered and Red Fred was chosen as their new Marshall. He adopted name Dreaded Red Fred as mark of his unflinched loyalty towards legion.

As Legion is often accompanied by daemons it is suspected, that their long time in Warp has altered them in unperceivable ways as clear marks of corruption are nonexcistent and they still preach Imperial creed, even as it has become mockery of its centrally lead form and as such - heresy.

Omega Legion still roams the galaxys hidden and forgotten regions as harbringers of life, personal freedom and independence. They fight without malice or prejudice against all opposition with any means necessary and recruit soldiers from all places they visit.[/i]

Kärsivällisyydellä kirjoitettua fluffia tosiaan, enkä hakemallakaan tahtonut asiavirheitä löytää... Eräs kysymys tosin heräsi: They were bunch of unreliable and disobedient inviduals bunched together and sent somewhere. Petturien joukossa nämä epäluotettavat tyypit olivat jo kääntyneet Kaaokselle tai kuolleet, joten jäljellä olivat ainoastaan aivan puhdasuskoisimmat. Chapterin fluffia ajatellen kannattaa lukea fregatti Eisensteinista. Ehkä Chapteri luotiin heidän geeniperimistään?

Edit: Lisäksi 10.000 vuotta sotimassa yhdellä risteiliällä (norm. chapterillä on n. 3 Battle Bargea, 8 Strike Cruiseria ja tusinoittain escortteja) ilman huoltoa on aiiiika pitkä aika.

ota huomioon Malestromin warppiluonne eli legioonalle aikaa ei välttämättä ole kulunut tuota 10.000 vuotta. Ja voi olla että he ovat "lainanneet" aina tarpeen tullen muita vastaan tulleita aluksia ja Space Hulkkeja, mutta Damocles on pysynyt heidän pääaluksenaan koko ajan.
