The angels of death
It was a beautiful morning on the planet Holscht. Thomas looked at the clock: 0354, it's almost time for morning prayer.
Thomas tried to continue his rest period, but somehow he couldn't continue. Thomas stood up and looked around, he looked at the table, and saw a note. Thomas waked closer to the note, he took it up and read. "Member of the Black Templar chapter's Sword Bretheren. Our keep on planet Khreek has been overrun by a daemonic force of chaos, and our objective is to retake the keep. Thunderhawk gunships are leaving for Khreek at 0413 o'clock." Thomas looked at the clock again: 0408,
"crap! the gunsihps are about to take off! i need my armor, now!"
Thomas started running for the Black Templars armoury. When Thomas entered the armoury, the initiate at the checkout sayed:
"well... looks like someone's running late."
Thomas looked at him angrily.
"Okay, okay! Here's you armor."
Then the initiate called some servitors to dress Thomas. While the servitor were dressing Thomas, Thomas kept on looking at the clock: 0410.
"hurry up, hurry up!" Thomas said quietly.
Almost instantly Thomas was dressed, he ran to the checkout and said:
"Listen, initiate, give me a weapon, now! I don't have time for this!"
"Yeah, yeah. I know... Here you go"
The initiate handed a chainsword and a boltpistol to Thomas. Thomas trated running for the door, when the initiate said quietly:
"Good luck"
Thomas didn't even slow down, he just kept on running.
When Thomas arrived to hangar 0137 he saw a large group of sword bretheren units. Thomas walked to his own unit.When it was 0413 o'clock a large door behind them opened, but no-one looked back, everyone just stared in front of them. Thomas heard steps behind him, he thought that there were at least five heavily armed soldiers, and maybe two men in power armor. Soon in front of the sword bretheren stood seven men, five terminators, just as thomas thought, one Emperor's champion, and High marshal Helbrecht himself. Everyone kneeled before High marshal, even the terminators and the Emperor's champion. Helbrecht started talking:
" Allright, fifth company! Soon we all will be flying for the planet Khreek. I'm going to say this only once: You will NOT fear, you will NOT give a chance to the enemy, NONE you will retreat. Everyone who will flee will be executed, we will win or die together, as brothers should!"
When Helbrecht stoped talking, The Emperor's champion stood up, and read the prayer.
After the prayer the sword bretheren squads boarded the gunships.
After three days of flying in the space, Thomas heard Helbrecht speaking:
"Fifth company! We are arriving to Khreek. We will unload these gunships three miles away from our keep, so our attack will be a suprise."
Thomas looked down from the gunship, and he saw ground running under them.
Suddenly somewhere came a lascannon shot, that brought one of the gunships down.
"The gunship 8 is down!" Thomas heard from the radio.
"Wait... That's the gunship where High marshal Helbrecht and his retinue are!" The leader of Thomases squad said.
