Q&A - No Combat Patrol or Kill Team rules in the rulebook. CoD and APOC are fully 5th ed compliant (surprise!) However it was mentioned smaller sized game rules will appear in one of a number of 40K expansions being worked on.
40K "Mighty Empires" confirmed by RickP for '09 he has the resin casts of the 40K tiles. Defence lines, spaceports, bunkers and a multipart hive city were mentioned.
Confirmation of a policy change, instead of armies being done all in one lump with the codex, additional releases for armies will be coming out over a period of time - as we're seeing with Ork and there is a plan to expand Plaguebearwers and Horrors into plastic "at some stage".

Juu, tuota CP -rule osiota ei ollut uudessa kirjassa joten en itse toistaiseksi ole varma onko se enää laillinen, mutta kyllä sitä silti tulee pelattua.
40K:n "mighty Empires"-jutusta en ollut vielä kuullutkaan mutta se toisi mukavasti lisäeloa tähän 40K:n arkeen.
Ja tuota horroreiden sekä plaguebearereiden "muovinnusta" olen odottanut jo aika kauan. Kappalaiset kun maksavat ihan tuhottomasti.

Rick mentioned that there are several supplements being worked on that will cover Kill Team etc... by Jervis and his team that would be released in the future. Rick's opinion was that as the rules are written now, it's easier to take 40 down to 500pts with the rules as they stand, unlike WFB. No details were forthcoming about Planetstrike or any other named supplement....
Interesting thing was how vocal Rick P. was re; GW / WD policy - he seemed very hacked off at the direction WD had / is taking, and that now the design studio had more control over Wd, he'd like to see more rules based stuff in there... - in fact, there was projec the nearly mentioned, but stopped short after a glare from Tim....
Rick also mentioned Dark Eldar - he's got the mini's and the codex - I'm not sure (philbrad may be able to correct me) but I oculd have sworn I heard him say he'd sent it back as it was '*****'..!
As Philbrad said, he was effusive about the ME 40K - it won't be seen until next year, but will be fully compatible with WFB ME. In fact, it was another thing that Rick sent back to try again to the Dev Team.
There will be no new races for the forseeable future (so no change on the party line from last year), as to support the races they already do is hard enough. Though Rick did mention Squats more than once - but in the context of tongue in cheek 'after too many cappucino's' was the phrase...
Apocalypse Reload - DOES have the website Datafaxes in there - but the pictures for the likes of the Khorne Tower of Skulls, Plaguetwoer etc.. are new conversions. The book is nicely presented, softback.
Inquisition - no decision has been made on the direction the new IQ book(s) will take - they're too far down the pipeline to even talk about, but Andy has several Witchhunter Datasheets that he needs to finish to get out there...! The main thing to take from this was that there has been no final decsion on whether to stick with separate Ordo books, or go for one combined volume.
Other timelines - as of now, there are no plans to bring out supplements for HH, Age of Apostasy etc... but 'If Jervis finds himself at a loose end, or he looks like he's being idle we'll get him on it' was the line from Rick!
The apocalypse reloaded in my opinion is about 2/3rds datasheets from the website, and 1/3rd new stuff. There is one for a stormhammer baneblade, with a twin linked vulcan cannon and heavy bolter side sponsons at the front end of the tank, and heavy stubbers, and troop carrying capability (although there is no model picture just 2d artwork).
There is a Tau stealth datasheet with lots of stealth battle suits.
The 'Tyranid Behemoth Crusher Brood' that you can advance order is actually Three Carnifexes and two Hyrodules.
The later 1/3rd of the reloaded rulebook are rules further expanding the apocalypse rules etc...
Apparently the 40K army release will go Space marines....Imperial Guard (Chrimbo)....Space wolves (early 2009).
The big boxset of 40K vs Orks will be out in Three Months time. So we have July WD:40k 5th edition rulebook........August WD: Darkelves with a Dark Elf vs High Elf battle report....... September WD: free terminator and ork model and details on the boxset.
Ok so after running some errands I stoped by the LGS on a whim. Boy am I happy I did. Now we dont have any gamesworkshops for at least 100 miles around here or more. We do have 2 independant retailers though. (side note, im in the USA in kentucky)
So this comes from some higher ups and not just red shirts in the store (black shirts? at least some sort of regional managers/supervisors).
They where talking with the owner about alot of stuff, and I got to pick their brains on a few things and see some awesome stuff.
First. I got to actually inspect and touch the sprue for black reach coming out in sept. The pics just dont do it justice. The detail and quality is awesome. We all kinda knew that, but just thought I would throw it in to gloat a bit. ;D ;D ;D
Second, they told me that the sept issue of white dwarf is going to be including a sprue with both a black reach Nob & Termie. And the price is still going to remain the same. Thats about 20 bucks worth of models with the magazine.
I do know for certain that the battlewagon and storm boy plastics are on the way, they showed me some print outs that made me drool.
Fourth, I got some various info on a few of the upcoming army revamps. Mainly space wolves, dark eldar and necrons.
Space wolves, this is kinda tricky and halfway upseting. They are contemplating puting all the side chapters into one codex, instead of full codex's for them. :'( If they do that I will most likely not start a space wolves army then. Makes me sad.
Then I found out something shocking completely and saddening. Apparently they said necrons are going to get a new codex BEFORE dark eldar.
This both made me giddy and sad at the same time. On one hand I play necrons, so new codex = . But then I was also looking foreward to dark eldar. They said necrons wont be till at least late to end of 09, so dark eldar wont be till 2010 at least. :-[
Overall it was very worth it to randomly pop in to the LGS and see what was going on. Defintely missing sleep (3rd shifter).
I too managed to get my grubby hands on the boxed set, only yesterday, very nice indeed. Mini rules book, plus a book on how to play, with rules for each army, pretty standard stuff, the miniatures are detailed as decribed above.
The GW rep didnt mention the necron at all, so not sure on that one he said something like:
jan - more orks,
feb -apocolapse reloaded
march - plastick valkrie and eldar bikes
april - imperial guard
may - chaos dwarfs
june- Dark eldar
I think that is how it was, so dont worry DE should be here within 12 months.

Valkyrie ja muut kuulostavat mukavalta, mutta toivon etta he oikeasti sitten toteuttavat nuo uudet figut. Tuleekohan seuraavaks Apocalypse Revolutions, niin saadan myyntikikka Matrix loppumaan.

Hiphei, Dark Eldareille uusi codex. Juuri kun opettelin pelaamaan vanhalla. Odetellaan kauhulla warriorien nerffausta, 1 blaster/20 warrioria ("They are not space marines, after all, and do not...").
Hupsista, sehän ilmestyykin vasta kaaoskääpien jälkeen. Ei huolta siis.
Hyvän analogian löytäminen on yhtä hankalaa kuin...yhtä hankalaa kuin...
Melko ristiriitaista tietoa tulee kun toisaalla sanotaan ettei uusia armeijoita tule ja toisaalla että DE codexi tulee vasta 2010 ja sitten että kaaoskääpiöt ilmestyy keväällä ja DE heinäkuussa... Mitä näistä sitten pitäisi uskoa? Pääasia lienee että uusia codexeja ON tulossa, täytynee toivoa ettei aikataulu myöhästy kovin hirveästi!

Kannattaa huomata sanat "somethink like this" ja että on puhdasta huhua. örkeille kyllä tulee Tammikuussa toisen aallon figut ja Helmikuussa pitäisi tulla uusia apocalypse tuotteita kauppaan, mutta lopusta ei taida olla varmistuksia ym olemassa...
SM codexin jälkeen tulevat 40k:oon julkaisut, saattaa myös olla ainoat 40k codexit ensi vuonna:
