Second 1 vs 1 tournament game vs IG. This time I had all real models! Huraz! Obviously this limited my choises(since I restricted myself to real models concidering I had enough models :D). Game size was 2700(since that was where I could reach. Still had few spare models but 2700 seemed like good limit anyway due to it being GW tournament size :D). I tried out following list:

Big warband + 8 battlewagons + 3 gunwagons
Warband + 4 battlewagons + gunwagon
Big warband + 9 boyz(+grots) + 8 kommandos + warlord
Stormboyz horde + 6 stormboyz
Big kult of speed(total 12 buggies, 4 scorchas)

IG army was composed of:

infantry company + hydra + 3 griffons
mechanised company + 3 hellhound + 3 leman russ
artirelly company(6 basilisk, 3 manticore) + infatry platoon + hydra
2 flights of marauders

For terrain we had 2 towns at opposite corners, marine stature at center and lots of hills and forrests around, plus group of rocks.

Deployment ended up(btw. Does it go like this: First we exhange garrisons. Now if other has no garrisons does the other put ALL garrisons and THEN start putting reinforcements(with higher strategy rating starting it too) or does the one without garrison start putting reinforcements? We played it so that first all garrisons were put, THEN all reinforcements. With me having higher strategy rating I had put 3 deployments before he put his first...Needless to say huge advantage) like follows:

Orks:

Stormboyz on center-right behind hill, warlord mob on their right. For reinforcements kult of speed was at left, big battlewagon mob at center behind forrest and small battlewagon mob behind same forrest but on right side. Gunwagons were at front, screening the battlewagons from hostile attention.

IG(with all formations having commisar, AGAIN. Is it just me or do IG get strangely lot of commisars? I thought they weren't that common...But maybe I have been reading Gaunt's Ghost too much :D):

Artirelly formation far left, mechanised company at center, infantry company on right in the town.

Turn 1:

Winning priority(hurah! Actually I won it on all 4 turns, better strategy rating deciding it 3 times out of 4 :D) I marched(using warlord reroll) bigger battlewagon mob...Straight toward the artirelly company. Retaining initiave warlord mob doubled forward the town.

Then IG artirelly company retaliated(though failed sustained fire command!) blowing 3 gunwagons from bigger mob. Mechanised company advanced forward and opened fire on them as well blowing little bit more troops.

Then smaller battlewagon doubled toward mechanised company, storm boyz doubled behind rocky formation near the mechanised company as well.

Marauder host sent bigger battlewagon retreating due to some more casualties. Remaining 4 battlewagons + their troops + 1 nob at open moved forward toward the artirelly company(hoping to rally and then engage next turn).

Kult of speed failed march command(decided small risk was needed) so moved forward once instead.

Infantry company occupied several buildings and killed few grots. Other marauder flight failed to come.

In rally phase broken battlewagon mob failed rally test of 5+ while buggies passed as did warlord mob.

Turn 2:

Again won strategy roll. Stormboyz opted to engage the mechanised company, and for their trouble got wiped out. But atleast 2 russes were destroyed in the process! But still. Abysmal result but maybe expected. Darned 4+ rerolled save.

Small battlewagon mob tried to repeat the trick but 1 later they opted to move behind forrest instead. Crap crap CRAP!

So instead infantry company sustain fired into warlord host killing quite a few. Mechanised company blasted at smaller battlewagon mob, killing some.

Warlord mob doubled into city, preparing for glorious assault next turn!

Marauders flight #1 failed initiave test. Buggies doubled and went behind forrest on left, close to artirelly(and where bigger battlewagon mob had entered to be safe from indirect fire from artirelly).

Marauder flight #2 came in. And fired at warlord mob. And opted to blast at building with warlord. Resulting in 1 dead nob. Which happened to be the warlord unit since I was stupid enough to put it in FRONT instead of bit back...

Art company blasted 5 buggies apart.

Rally phase. Warlord mob failed the 2+ rally test(+2 for numbers, -1 for enemy nearby). Dammit! Bigger battlewagon mob failed rally test as well. Only smaller one passed. Crap.

Turn 3:

Again won strategy roll. So ex-warlord mob lets out mighty WAAAAAGGGH cry and... I rolled 1 for engage command...

I'm getting pissed off for that unit...Atleast I had sense to remove blast markers over shooting as they had horde of them. Rolling 6 as highest and having 5 nobs alive meant that nearly all blast markers were removed.

Infantry company sustain fired at them killing quite a few. Mechanised company fired at smaller mob, nearly wiping them out(but not broken, just!).

So remnants charge mechanised company(I figured I needed some serious luck here) and got wiped out. Crap.

arauders do little this time either.

Buggies double next to art company frying basilisk and 4 infantry(with lovely scorchas). And then lost several buggies to art.company.

Rally phase. Ex-warlord host rallies, bigger battlewagon host rallies! but buggy horde fails. Game continues.

Turn 4:

Another strategy roll. Maybe foolishly I opted artirelly company needed sorting out instead of infantry company. So buggies charge in. And get broken(because of commisar's inspiring!) so only scorchas ran into safety. I retained initiave and charged with battlewagon mob...Through forrest(decided now I needed to take some risks) and 2 battlewagons + survivors(since I couldn't get within 5cm of units in combat) died. In combat warband is wiped out...

Then his fire with mechanised(getting crossfire too since he advanced behind me) and infantry company killed all but 4 boyz from ex-warlord warband breaking them.

Marauders then killed remaining fleeing scorchas and infantry...

Board was empty of orks but only objectives he got were break their spirit and they shall not pass. Still a victory via objectives...

I still need to practise my IG killing strategies :D
