Dark Angels 3rd Company, 2nd Division

The second division of the 3rd Dark Angels company is a small rapid deployment force made up of the elite warriors the 3rd has to give. It is commanded by Codicier-Librarian Lucas, an aspiring Librarian that showed splendid battle-moral and wise warfearing in the Gomorran Campaign. Unluckily, he was wounded when a Earthshaker shell landed not far from him. If not for the Rosarius he had been given by Interrogator-Chaplain Uzziel, for capturing four Chaos sorcerors with knowledge about the Fallen, he had been dead now... Lucas had been trained in the powers of terror and destroying enemy moral. He was a strong character on the battlefield and he wouldn't move in the sight of the enemy. His favourite tactic was to shoot his opponent to bits and then charging in to finish the job, making his enemy flee before him.
The command of the 2nd Division had been give to him by the 3rd Companies Grand Master, Master Belial. He had also recieved a personal bodyguard, made up of veterans from that same campaign on Gomorran. He even had a personal Apotechary named Caleb with him. It had been Caleb that saved him the first time on Gomorran as well. They had become fiends over the last ten years, more and more trusting in each other. Still, Caleb knew that Lucas would do anything to acieve his mission, even sacrifies him...
Assigned to 2nd Division was also Tactical squads Genesis and Exodus, the 3rd's pride and joy. They had taken part in over five campaigns and showed both valour and determination. Both squads' Sergeants had been inducted into the Inner Circle and were aware of the history of the Dark Angels. Both of them would fight to the end without flinching a bit... Sadly enough, Exodus had taken heavy casualties on a recon mission to the Kotka solar system only last week. But reserves had been brought in and the squad is already over half strength again! Also Tactical squad Leviticus has been transfered to the 2nd Division and fared quite well in the last manouver against the foul Dark Eldar that were buthcered in the Kotka solar system. Also squad Leviticus has suffered some casualties during the last campaigns, but they're still in fighting condition. The most glorius event for the 2nd was when their old commander, Master Mikael, returned to fight beside them. Altough he was now and forever more part of a machine, he still brought with him a fighting spirit and a head-strong approach unlike any seen before. He was the 2nd Division's spirit incarnated, or in his case, intombed!
To bolster the 2nd's heavy firing capabilities, Devastator squad Rain of Fire, commanded by Sergeant Esau, was brought in. Also a Predator Annihilator, callsign "Fire First, Never Ask", was assigned to them, giving them both more fire power and flexibility. Now if only they could get a Whirlwind... Unluckily the Armoury was repairing many of the Whirlwinds after a shoot-out with the Iron Warriors' tanks on Gomorra Prime. Surely they would be given one when they became available again!
In the last battles in the Kotka system, Codicier-Librarian Lucas had noticed that their manuverability was often outclassed and that a fast enemy could attack them before they had the time to lay down enough fire to stop them in their tracks... He had therefor requested support in the form of a squadron from the Ravenwing. He knew that no-one was faster or more efficient in missions of this matter than the Ravenwing. To his luck, he was given a squadron, that could help him quite a lot...
Master Belial had wished that no Terminators were taken on the 2nd Division's missions, but that this would be a chance for the younger brothers to show what they could do. The honored brothers of the Deathwing weren't to be disturbed before there were confirmed sightings of Fallen activity. The 2nd's job was just that, to find rumours and to react on them, confirming them and even chasing the Fallen down, if possible... This is why the Ravenwing squadron was needed. Otherwise they would call upon the Deathwing to finish the job!
This is the 2nd Division! This is the army that Codicier-Librarian Lucas has at his disposal. These are the elite hunters that the 3rd Company Dark Angles send out to find their lost brothers and to bring them back, dead or alive...

The 2nd Divison had left for the Jyvaskyla system a week ago... NMo word had been recieved at the Rock on their progress... This were stirring...
After another week a message was recieved. This stated that the 2nd Division had encountered a traitor Legion of Space Marines in black armour, with red and white markings. The Dark Angels had been victorious in the battle that followed, but their Predator had been damaged in the fight and a few men had ben lost... Luckily the Apothecary Caleb could retrive the geen-seed from the dead Dark Angels without interuption and all wasn't lost.
The following battle had come only a day later, when the 2nd was moving through a dessert to make their way to the ridge, where Fallen sightings had been confirmed. A band of Chaos Space Marine raiders had attacked them and although the attackers was stopped in their tracks, great destruction had been done to the 2nd... The Predator was seriously injured, the Rhino partly destroyed and Lucas' bodyguards wounded. the bodyguard had to be replaced and the tech-marines could not be sure of the capabilities of the vehicles...
Upon arrival at the ridge, the Fallen were found, already aware of the comming of the Dark Angels... A brutal fight followed, were brother fought brother and no-one was going to give in. The 2nd was all but massacred, after the Predators engines gave up and it was left stationary and shot like a sitting duck... The new bodyguard show instantly their inexperience by standing too close when a Whirlwind missile hit a closeby Land Speeder, that blew up and took three marines with it... Only squad Genesis showed backbone and stood bravely against the attack of a Fallen Master and his retinue. Sadly many brave men died and when the Fallen moved away upon nightfall, only a handfull of Dark Angels could take themselves back to basecamp and report in...
When the survivors of the massacre had reported in, Lucas, now seriously injured, demanded more men be sent from the orbiting barrage and that a hunt was established. Upon reciving the men he needed, Lucas jumped into his Rhino, bodyguard and all, and sped towards the city, were the Fallen had first been seen. His troops had been sent planetside quite near the city in question and arrived before Lucas did... When they entered the city, they found it to be under Eldar controll. Alaitoc Rangers had taken the city and now laid in cover, sniping at the marines as they walked the streets of the now all but empty city. The Dark Angels found marks of Fallen activity in the city, even maps that the Fallen had left behind. Sergeant Esau knew that Lucas would want these pieces of evidence and started to gather them... Suddenly an Eldar force moved in on them and started to fire at them, thinking that they where the Fallen marines that had returned to pillage the city further! A battle broke out and now the 2nd faced an opponent much faster and much more hidden than the other opponents ever had been! Altough Honorable Brother-Dreadnought Mikael succeeded in stopping a couple of Wraightlords, it wasn't enough... The Eldar came with speed and force, shooting all that stood in their way. When Lucas arrived, he couldn't do much more that order his men to shoot back as much as possible, trying to find the Farseer that commanded this force. After witnessing an Avatar rip through a squad of his men, he found an Eldar that looked like the "man-in-charge". Lucas charged him and with a blow with his Force Axe wounded the Eldar, still no capable of killing the foul alien outright with the Force weapon's mighty power. The alien was too mentally powerful to be killed by a simple Codicier-Librarian like him...
Lucas was both physically and mentally wounded and fell to the ground. His men died around him and he could do nothing! The battle was lost, he knew, and there was nothing he could do to stop it anymore... If the only would have killed him and gotten it over with...
The message to the Rock had been sent by the Master of the Battlebarge, that had been assigned to the 2nd. The message ended with these words: "It is sadly my resposibility to report that it is beliven that the 2nd Division is destroyed and that Librarian Lucas is lost... We will continue scanning the planet of Jyvaskyla Prime, but our hopes aren't high... Wait! An Eldar ship has been sighted leaving the planet! Master of the Helm, follow that ship! Send reenforcements to this bearing! X4559, Y2335, Z1174." Message over.
There is still hope amongst the brothers on the battlebarge. There is still a chance of finding Brother-Librarian Lucas and the Eldar scum that attack his division. There is even a chance to retrive the information the Eldar have on the Fallen army that pillage the city where the Eldar host had been... All isn't lost! Anything is still possible!
